Maxis building database

Is there a database somewhere WITH PICTURES of all the maxis buildings?

I have just found out that if you CTRL+Drag when zoning you can control the size of the lot that gets built, brilliant, but I would really like to see a list of which building fit in what size lot...

I.e. If I drag a R zone, 2x2 what could get built?

It would take a while for you to get one of each building, both because the game repeats buildings that have already been built,and because of how long it takes for a city to expand. Unless of course you have demand mods or the extra cheat mod or just having B.A.T.s.

I found out that i could do that 1 week Ago,we learn something New about simcity 4 ,everyday!

Like when i found out that you could drag elavated highway over elavated highway it made me excited!

With the NAM and all its extensions, I think you can explore the game for a very long time. I keep learning new things which is what makes the game playable even after 10 years.

I hear so much about "Building stages" how do you know what stage you are at? Appart from looking at which buildings are being built? Is there a mod that if you query a building will tell you which stage it is at?

Does the whole city move from one stage to the next? i.e. If you get to stage 4, does that mean a stage 2 building will not be built anymore?

Does RCI all change stage at the same time?

Is it a time thing, ie after 10 years you will be at stage 3, 50 years stage 6?

Is it a population count?

So many questions :-)

I feel the same way. I installed the NAM two weeks ago, simply because it improved the traffic algorithm. I have yet to do any more than glance at the actual highway stuff because I've been too busy with discovering other things!

Building themselves have a "stage". For example, a building which employs 10 low-wealth people and is stage 1 will be built immediately (assuming it has access to power and 10 unemployed, uneducated people), whereas the same building as a stage 4 will not be built until it also has water. I don't know anything more detailed than that. Maybe someone who knows more could post a list or something?

I personally use SC4tool as a database. It's easy to utilize and allows you to modify custom building's exemplars and properties.

I can load the document perfectly okay. Is your browser up to date? You could try with another browser?

It is a Google document and required me to sign in, then failed to "generate" the document.  Use the SC4 Tool.

That's strange. Like Timmie, the document opens fine for me also (no sign-in required). It might take a few seconds to load depending on your connection speed.

 

If it's any help, the document can be downloaded here. You'll need Excel 2007+ (or the free viewer) to open it.

Opens just fine in Libre Office Calc and probably in Open Office as well.

I opened it in LibreOffice Calc, though the vertical formatting of the blue bullet points seems mangled.
