Where I can download SC4 ?

So after 3 years break I decide to come back to this game and start to play all over again, but I have a problem I don't know where I can download a full game. [Can't discuss it. -CaptCity]

EA/Maxis is still making money off of SC4, there is no legal way to obtain the game for free

Piracy is illegal and not tolerated on Simtropolis (im no moderator)

However Simcity 4 deluxe costs next to nothing!

But does SC4 Deluxe supports all plugins? Because I remember I once installed Deluxe and none of the plugins didn't work. I have Rush Hour, but it ask for SC4 to be installed.

Yes, and besides it is not tolerated on Simtropolis and constitutes a warning/ban-worthy offense depending on severity.

Of course does the game support all the plugins. After all, the modding tools are no hacks, but official releases from Maxis/EA themselves, so it is only logical that the content generated with them also works with the game.

The downloaded version from Steam is completely compatible with all plugins, and it contains all the patches maxis released, so you don't have to download those from the depths of the old official SC4 website.

And if you want to pirate, vote on your country's Pirate Party next elections.

You can also get it from GamersGate legally. You get version 1,1,641 from all legal vendors which is diskless to play, and fully patched. Any and all plugins should work except the very early ones that incorporate patches.

I suggest avoiding both Steam and Origin as these use their own installation structures making it hard to install things like the BAT. These sites also want you to login on their site in order to play (you don't have to), but they do load snoopware with the game.

I use the Steam version, and I haven't had any problems installing or using BAT, gmax, Lot Editor, iLives Reader, etc. Also, Steam does not load "snoopware" with the game, or when you initially install the program.

Since I don`t live in the U.S. I couldnt download the game from Amazon or some other sites, so I downloaded mine from GameStop digital download yesterday.

You can use Steam or Amazon or something yeah. Elsehow I'm sure some retailers sell SC4 still, I know one around my town does (more than one..), might be second hand but eh.

And I have had problems with many games and Steam, mainly because Steam sometimes changes the inner pathes of the game, but with Simcity 4 there wasn't that much trouble, as it was said.

Well that's a blessing. Thanks for the info. I got the impression that you had to log on to Steam to play. Is this not correct? Do you not have to connect to their site? In any case, Steam and Origin both use a set up different from the one we are all familiar with. Not a problem to experienced people.
