Changing signs/logos on building?

I'd like to know how to change building signs ie: Old Wal-Mart building etc. "Lets say the old retro wal-mart is too small, so you build a supercenter across the street, and you want to keep the old building in the same place but edit the building/lot for another commercial building ie: bowling alley or most wal-marts become Theisen's Home, Farm and Auto in the midwest. If someone could help answer thsi question, or build one that would be awesome, even just and empty store by just removing the lettering would be cool. Thanks

I'm wanting to edit files that I downloaded from here, I can edit the lots etc, just can't remove the name off of the building. I'd like to make my own, but not sure how you make the logos for the buildings etc.

It sounds like the only way to execute that idea is to have at least two identical building lots, one with one sign, and the second with a different sign. Thing is, this ain't the kind of thing you can't do without re-lotting or even re-BATing existing lots, and even so, you'd have to control the placement of the buildings entirely by plopping them yourself.

Yeah that would be perfect! That's what I'd like to do I just don't know how to build the building I could cover up the old logo by covering it with a new one, I've played around with the lot editor and added different props with a building to make a strip mall using the old building but basically just give the building a face lift.

Yeah, that's the problem... You'd have to redo the entire building using GMAX... (It's essentially redoing an entire building from scratch using a 3D modelling program, re-exporting it using the BAT, an addon to GMAX, and assigning the exported "model" into being a building. Thing is, you'd need the original GMAX files to make things easier on you, and if you don't have those, you'd have to do it all yourself.)

It would be a long rather difficult process for a very small benefit. I'm going to guess you want this for a CJ and are going to have a walmart and do exactly what you said in op. To do that effectively how you wanted it, you'd need to be very skilled to recreate the original walmart exactly. Not too many people on this site would be able to do it if any at all. Recreating a building is one thing, recreating something already modeled is another, and recreating either to be perfectly accurate and the same is a proffesional task.

    Oh darn!

In theroy you could remake the sign by making a 3d model of the new text, and placing it exactiy over the text of the old building as a prop in Lot Editor, but the old building LOD (which you would have no control over) would have to be made in a certain way. Bascially if anything sticks out farther from the front of the building than the sign does, this method wont work.

Thanks for the replies everyone, here is a link the wal-mart building in question.. https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1229

I wish I knew how to build lots etc. If someone could make a building like this, not worried about the lot, I can always prop it into the lot. I really just would like a small box store that is empty lol and then a 2nd building that could be used that has a store in it (after a company buys the building from what used to be walmart.
