Co $$$ Demand

Can you have Co $$$ demand nailed to the top? If so how? Also I've had several good cities go down. One of my cities had around 200,000 people. I had skyscrapers (yates real estate etc.). then I expanded to around 250,000 people. One part started to abandon due to commute time. When new people moved in they were uneducated. Then it seemed to have more crime. Co$$$ demand went from being little positive to little negative to very negative. Co$$ demand would come in spurts. Cs$$$ demand wasn't doing very well either.

What happened? I had some thing similar happen to another city.

Thanks

just do what you keep doing to make your reach 250K. improve your mayor rating. a quick boost can be done performing all goodwill UDI missions. lastly, try to lower your taxes in the meantime. demand will go up at some time hopefully. raise the taxes when you're confident the demand is stable. and regarding the uneducated sims... uhmm... build more schools?

These developer types require high education sims. Higher wealth Commercial demand dropped, since there aren't any high education sims demanding them (new sims are always less educated and more prone to crime; the lower the resident wealth, the lower the education). Keep in mind that educating sims to high levels takes a long time (several decades with comprehensive education services).

I dont know if this anything new really, a quick summary

High EQ. College Min. University helps

Rewards!

-Stock Market

-Convention center

-Movie studio

Larger population 250k can support CO, but in order to really sustain demand, I find larger pop always helps

Busy Airport. Airports support business travel-more travellers=more demand.

Regions never hurt. Again, connections with surrounding cities boosts demand for commercial

Tax rates, YMMV but once your city is in the black, keep taxes low to moderate. 4-7% range.

I have little problem keeping demand +, but keep in mind, once you fill demand for CO$$$, demand tends to shift to CO$$ and CS a lot.

For commercial zones demand is mostly dependable on commute time, so (if you haven't done it yet) you could build/expand your subway system. It is also important that this system (underground/EL train) reaches a lot of residential zones since that is the traffic Simcity simulates. I build subwaystations every block/every two blocks and I zone my commercial areas on a central place. This usually leads to CO$$$ skyscrapers. Making big lots could also help. If you zone the grid should be wide enough to develop big buildings, if the lots are to small you could rezone them manually using Ctrl and then drag it to the desired size.

Some buildings from the STEX come with plopable versions with jobs. There are also buildings which are only growable. Usually the readme says how big the lots are, so you could check that if you want a certain building.
