Hi guys I'm new on the forum,

I have Simcity 4 rush Hour version for some time ago. I never had problems playing it. Recently I started to create a very big city and my MAcbook started to run too slow when I played it.

After this I decided to lower the game graphics. After making this change I was not able to run the game anymore.

Everytime I start it it quits unexpectedly and I don't know why. I already installed it again but it doesn't work anymore.

I have a MAcbook

Mac 0Sx 10.5.8

2.4Ghz intel core duo

2GB 667 Mhz DDr2 SDRAM

ANy help please?

THX

My Simcity does the exact same thing. I have a Lenovo laptop with an i5 processor and 4GB memory.

I'm beginning to think that it could be mods that contribute to when my game crashes, but that would mean that I would have to remove them all and start again - but I'm not going to do that! :)

The problem is that in my case the game not even starts in reality. After clicking the application the only thing that appears in the screen is a box saying

The application SimCity 4 rush hour quit enexpectedly.

Mac OSX and other applications are not affected.

Click Relaunch to launch the application again. Click to Report to see more details or send a report to Apple.

The only different thing I did before the game crashed was:

I lowered the graphic resolution to make a test, I wanted to know if my comp would run better. After this I restored settings to default to compare graphics and the game never worked again. I already downloaded the game twice and tried to run hundreds of times but with no success.

    Any help?

If it is the mods, then you should cut and paste half of them out and see if it still does that, if it does keep giving you that message, then keep cutting the groups in half until you find the right one.

I never installed any mod. I just have the game for a few days!

When you are starting the game, hold down the option key. You may need to bring the resolution back up to what it was originally.

Do you remember what graphics settings you had before?

And can you walk me through how you uninstalled the game?

Also, where have you downloaded this from? Do you have an installation disk to do a complete instal again?

SC4 was designed for PowerPC macs, so it will be quirky or worse on the newer Intel ones. Ranging from texture issues to full-on system crashes. Hopefully you have an older mac (G4 or G5) to play the game on.

The sad truth is, it'll probably keep crashing on that particular machine.

First thing to do is to locate the Preferences File in your Home Folder's Library, and remove it. Then remove the files that appear in your Documents folder and in the SimCity 4 Application folder. Then try the Option Key when running, switch to Windowed mode, and see what happens.
