I thought I would add my 2 cents.

I like the modern number 1 and 2, the moss covered walls are nice but there is too much of it, I think if you less the green it might look better, or give it that rain water rust look, you know how you can see the areas where the water leaves marks, but the rest look fine might be nice. I know in PA they started using a tan colored hex shaped wall tile, maybe that would be nice too. Nice job with the wall btw.

Wow, I really like Modern 3. It looks really nice! That sounds awesome that the fences move as well. They must be BATs and not props? Right?

    Hello to all,

just a quick post for Mr Toxicpiano 2.gif

    To make a lot transparent

You have to write down the texture ID that you applied in the Lot Editor, in the tiles that you want to make transparent. As an example, I always use the texture 25F40000 so I dont have to remember the ID 3.gif.

Make a backup of your lot before proceding. If everything goes right, you can remove it at the end. Open the lot in the Reader and search for the lot exemplar

Once found, search on the properties list for the LotConfigPropertyLotObject property with the first value equal to 0x00000002. Those are the base textures lines.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//howtomaketransparentlots010601.jpg align=baseline>

Double click on one of them, and the last rep calls the texture ID. This way you can confirm this is the tile you want to delete.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//howtomaketransparentlots010602.jpg align=baseline>

Once you are sure you want to delete that property, right click on it, and select delete property.

Once deleted right click again on one property and select Reindex LotConfig

    Save and try.

I hope this helps. It works fine for me 2.gif

    Hey Jeronij, Fabulous work!

    Please release them!@

Asside from that, the port looks great. Maybe even I have to revisit NOB's site. Thanks!29.gif

    Jeronij-

I really like the Modern 1 wall texture, it looks very good and very realistic at all zooms you showed.  It's a teensy bit dark, but otherwise nearly perfect, as in RL the forms that are used to build retaining walls are usually built from plywood, which comes in very regular and rectangular sizes (4'x8', 4'x12' being the most common).  The edges of the plywood leaves lines on the finished wall.

One reader commented about the use of hexagon tiles.  I think this is for appearances only, rather than actual individual tiles mortared into place, as tiles would have no structural integrity, lacking the deformed steel bars that is imbedded in a poured concrete wall, not to mention the thickness of the wall itself.  Here in the USA, big retaining walls along highways are sometimes given a decorative face...patterns or even impressed artwork.  This is done by nailing objects to the indside face of the form before pouring the concrete.  The concrete hardens around the protrusions so that when the forms are removed, the shape of the object remains, impressed into the wall.  Just a few miles from where I live in Seattle, a major cross-country highway needed to add a new interchange a few years ago.  Because the town where the new interchange was being built is at the base of the mountains, very large retaining walls had to be built on both sides of the highway to hold back the cut away mountainside.  The town also has a stream running through it which is famous for it's salmon runs every fall, so the new retaining walls are decorated with scenes depicting jumping and swimming salmon.

This brings up a question for you Jeronij: can your walls be used against existing steep terrain?  My Apocrypha map is very mountainous, and while I have temporarily abandoned building on it for the time being, I have given thought as to how to get roads through it, especially the mountains.

Seeing all the wonderful work you do with the game and the various custom content tools makes me wish I had time to do the same.  But then I look at your little tutorial above and I just go Huh?.

My biggest frustration and challenge right now is above ground running water.  Something that looks realistic and not built.  I think I may be able to do something with the Lot Editor, eventually...but it would be a big set of tools.

Those are beautiful walls and such variety. Would it be possible to include a set without the railings on top. There are a number of uses where railings would be out of place.

    Thanks

    Hello dear Simtropia visitors !!!

I just wanted to show you some work in progress I made with the new Modern Concrete Diagonal Walls. I have now two version (of 5) finished and under testing in my computer.

    Version 2

The walls keep the known flexibility on the slopes.

    nmcdwversion2280106010zh.jpg

There are pieces for the NAM onslope road and train pieces....

    nmcdwversion2280106026hz.jpg

There are also pieces for the on ramp highway exits...

    nmcdwversion2280106030jm.jpg

And this is what you can get using the version 2

    nmcdwversion2280106042zd.jpg

    Version 3

The walls keep the known flexibility on the slopes.

There are also pieces for the on ramp highway exits...

    nmcdwv3280106039yt.jpg

And this is what you can get using the version 3

    nmcdwv3280106040ao.jpg

I hope you like the final look of those two initial versions. I plan to complete the five shown some posts ago and release them to the STEX as separate downloads, so you can download the one you prefere. I also have to finish the mod to adjust the jagged edges before I release anything.

I have also uploaded my Cargo Docks lots to the STEX today. I tryied to keep the number of dependancies at the lowest. You can download ( and comment/vote) it here:

I hope you enjoy them. I have to go now, but before I leave, two things:

I am pleased to see you all coming to this CJ and droping a support phrase 44.gif !!! This is the kind of feedback that this CJ needs to keep on going 44.gif !!!

Wow, what a day! You released tons of props and extras on the STEX. I downloaded all of them! I see that you found the crane you were looking for in the Massively Gigantic Japanese Thread (I go there all the time to see what the Japanese release. 18.gif)
I love the shadow affect on the walls. It makes them look like they come out on the top, and I think that looks awesome!
    Really great job, Jeroni!
Agreed, I'm not saying that person should be banned, but whoever they are, they should stop while they are ahead and probably change their screenname while they are at it too.

Great work amigo, that version 3 is my favorite so far, and the inclusion of pieces to use with the NAM is a wonderful idea!

    Take care!

    Now, that's well, perfect!

Version 3 is a little bit dark, but IMO, that adds to the character, don't you think?

Version 2 looks great, though a little colour correction may be needed on the BATted sections so they match with the texture sections.

    Cheers,

Perfect. I do not agree with S.A. here, it is not too dark. I like it the way it is.

Anti-Jeronij? 26.gif WHO IS ANTI? LETMEGET'EM, argh, argh, argh!!!

One question about Version 3. Where did those  trees come from as seen in the picture of the on-off ramps. If they are a part of the lot, I would remove them although it is a nice change of sight between all that grey concrete, the safety manager of the local Department of transport would most probably object. I do not see those trees at the previous picture of the NAM onslope so are they a later addition?

Thanks very much for the Cargo Docks. They are great!

Well done Jeronij! I LOVE version 3!! It looks lovely, so unique. Please don't change it, I love it how it is! Its perfect.

I'm not quite as bigger fan of Version 2, but it is a nice realistic texture. Good work! I look forward to seeing these released. I hope you include version 3 in the pack!

PS. I like your Cargo Docks, very nice. 48.gif

The walls are absolutly brilliant Jeronij, I really like the effect that they make with 3D illusion of V2 looking curved and V3 looking like it has drainage. I really like what you have done with the under NAM lots, they look fantastic too. I am really looking forward to them being released.

The walls look very good, over all at close view. To do the higway ramps it's a great idea.

Thank you about de cargo docks. Me gustan mucho. These days I'm working in a coast zone in my simcity region. The docks area is like the Jeronij's corner: the seawalls, the maritime transit control tower, the breakwater, and now the cargo docks. Lately your are very maritime
