Although, like Applejack, I was surprised to see that one of the babies was a Pegasus, and the other a Unicorn, when both parents are Earth ponies, I guess Carrot Cake's explanation (that his great-great-great-great-grandfather was a Unicorn, and that Cup Cake's great aunt's second cousin twice removed was a pegasus) makes sense. It does make sense, right?

I think baby Pumpkin has great magic potential; I mean, it's not like just anypony can levitate objects and cast spells to allow themselves to PASS THROUGH SOLID OBJECTS (!!!) when just one month old. She might even get as good as Twilight, or very close at the least, when she grows older

Pound also has some serious potential as a flyer, due to him being obviously younger than Scootaloo, yet, at only one month, already able to fly easily. Nevertheless, I don't think he'll ever be as good as Rainbow Dash is.

What 'bout the rest of you? What do you think of the new twins, and of the episode as a whole?

PS: On second thought, Pumpkin's magic could be attributed to a "strange magic surge", but I'll stick to my theory of powerful magic for now.

In case you did not know already, Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle, and the rest of the gang are planning a visit to the Independent Republic of Cosarara! I am already beginning to think how the visitors will react when they see what a wonderful (but small) nation we have become after the people's victory in the Great Revolution of 1983! Do you think they will be impressed, or will they bring change? Already beginning to think about stuff for the update...

Any suggestions from you guys?

That's a fan name. The sea serpent's canon name is unknown.

Have you ever read the fanfic "Past Sins" before? It is AWESOME (obvious RD reference right there...)! Eyes glued to my computer screen 'cuz it's so captivating...

Search "past sins" on Google and you can find out for yourself just how great this fanfic is. Already to chapter 15, bookmarked every single chapter! Hope to read the last of it by this weekend... Almost inspires me to write MLP fanfiction myself, but in the MLP/Cosarara/whatever-is-in-my-imagination format.

"What else can you be when the world can only see a monster?"

Sort of like a plot for a CJ entry (of mine) where the Cosararan People's Armed Forces have to get involved.

Past Sins is a great example of how an OC should be written, especially one like that. Too often characters of that type end up as Mary Sues. Nyx, happily, is most certainly not.

I've also bookmarked the Equestria Daily page for it [linky], and I definitely agree with you; Nyx is one fantastic example of an Original Character. The story is so captivating that I've read the entire story four times already, and am currently at Chapter 10, reading it for the fifth time. The story is written just like canon series episodes, and whenever I read it, I feel like I'm "watching" it in my mind at the same time, complete with sound and voices for all the characters. One of my favorite scenes to "watch" is: WARNING, MAJOR SPOILER ALERT BELOW

from the point where Pinkie Pie is bouncing around the palace grounds, with all of the guards falling on top of each other trying to catch her to the place where Nightmare Moon/Nyx/"Queen Nyxie" asks the guards something along the lines of "Do you think you can catch [Pinkie Pie], even if you tried? Wouldn't you instead all make foals of yourselves?" I've always pictured that scene like this: Nightmare Moon/Nyx is standing at the gates of her castle with a slight smile on her face, watching Pinkie Pie bounce away, until one of the guards approaches her, requesting permission to apprehend the "intruder". The fleeting smile immediately disappears from her face, and she turns to the guard, asking the guard the aforementioned questions. The guard quickly bows, and then returns to his post, while Nightmare Moon once more turns her head in the direction of Ponyville, Pinkie Pie now out of sight. She lets out an almost inaudible sigh, then spreads her wings and flies back to her balcony several floors up.

If Nyx was a canon character, she'd be one of my favorite characters in the entire series, outshining everypony except for the Mane Six (and possibly even some of them).

The brothers' cider was pretty decent before they started cheating...
