For all the issue/problem threads popping up, there seems to be a serious lack of positive feedback for the recent NAM mass release. I thought I'd start a thread for people to talk about what the team did right and how much they appreciate it. :)

First of all, the new concrete viaduct style of the elevated Maxis networks looks awesome (IMHO). The diagonal avenue viaducts are cool too.

TuLEPs: Yay for dashed lines between turn lanes! Maybe do the same for avenues? And the compact transition is SO useful.

You didn't update much in the way of FAR and FLUPs, but you didn't really need to.

On to the RHW. Heck yeah. RHW6 is amazing now. You have basically given it all the functionality of RHW4. FARHW, elevated, all of it: awesome. Everything's clearly more flexible now and it makes it a lot more easy to work with. All you need is a filler piece to fit between two diagonal-FARHW transitions so we can make tight 90 curves and it's perfect.

Elevated SPUI made me very happy. I wouldn't have brought the outside lanes in as intersections, tho; I would've had them branch off so you can connect them in with those nifty Avenue exit ramps. Great design still.

The textures will take some getting used to, but I think I like them. There's definitely less color inconsistency on different puzzle pieces.

The list could go on and on but those are all of my highlights that I liked best. Thanks so much to the NAM team for all their hard work and dedication. You make SimCity so worthwhile!

Anyone else who wants to share a favorite thing or two about the update is welcome. :)

Meh. So I just moved the conversation over here. The whole point was that this thread would be 100% criticism free, a place where you could only find the compliments and highlights.

That's the one advantage that the old SPUI had. Would be a great idea, and would fill up space on the rotation so you don't stay on the same piece when rotating...

I am really enjoying all the new interchange options with the improvements to the ramp puzzle pieces. The way it's organized now makes it so much easier to find the ramp I'm looking for, too. It's much faster to build interchanges the way I want.
