You guys keep raising the bar. 16.gif

I like the roof junk. It's different to the usual aircon+pipes and satelite dish. I can't find any photo's, but there's a new building in Melbourne that has the roof junk encased in glass, so it's not out there and ugly, it's now a feature. You can see the aircon pipes through the glass.

The one I'm referring to with the glass encased roof junk is the NAB (National Australia Bank) campus at the docklands. I was saying I liked your roof junk.

Looks great JT, the new texture does look much better. This is just a supreme building you guys put together, one of the best I've seen. Can't wait to see it on the STEX.

    looks good!

id make the nitelites a very light cyanish blue...I am not a big fan of crazy colors...uhmmm well, thats not entirely true, but I think this building has too much class to spash orange or green lights all over it.

I think the HQ should have a 6x6 lot filled with trees and benches and stuff.

I'd have to recommend that you illuminate the pda logo with Goldiva's red nitelite texture. Otherwise, a dull yellow would be a good illuminator.

I think around the HeliPad should be either flashing red or bright blue lights (if possible) That would be very realistic1.gif

Our intentions have always been to light the PDA sign with red, but, Goldiva's creations are going to make it a much more pleasant experience.

As far as the lights around the helipad go, we'll probably use the standard maxis flashing red light prop in the LE to acheive that effect.  We don't want it to be too overpowering.

thanks for the suggestoins everybody! i did try goldiva's red but it made all the night windows red too. so i just lit it with lights on the top part. i also added the flashing lights in LE but i can't see them in game, i might need to move them up a bit...

Looks great!!!  But, at the risk of sounding critical... I have two suggestions :)

    1) I really don't like the spotlights at the top so much (the ones that shine on each corner - like over our logo for example).

    2) I think it's possible to use Goldiva's colors without affecting everything else.  Look at Darren's Luminary Park and Emerald Tower for examples of what I mean.  I think he used Goldiva's stuff to do that.  I'll talk to him, I'm sure he'd be more than willing to help us out :)

Unfortunately, I cannot offer any negative criticism ... 5.gif

Okay, I have a very stupid and annoying question that's unbecoming for a BATT Squad member to have to ask.  But, here goes:  all of the sudden, last night, all of my viewports started acting funky.  Whenever I move around in them (or even move an object around within them for that matter) they switch from smooth+shaded to wireframe.  I wasn't playing with any options or anything, and don't even remember being anywhere near a menu or a checkbox when it started happening.  But, obviously, something's become checked somewhere and I can't find what it is!!!  So, if someone could help me out it'd be much appreciated!!

You can lite the sign using TARGET DIRECT lights.

Just make 1 and set its falloff to like 1 or .5 even.
    rename it.
Then array it so that there are lights that fill the whole square of the sign.
Make sure you use reference array so you can adujst 1 light and they all adjust the same.
Make the light red I guess...
then delete the ones that fall into a void.

you will probably have to adjust the multiplier and the color to get it just right, but if make sure when you do the array that the hotspots line up together.

    does this make sense?

I have to go now but can help you tomorrow if you need it.

I like it, but that's no surprise...

I usually don't like too much decoration around the foot of a building (and neither do you guys, it seems), but I feel like this building would benefit from some sort of neat plaza or fountain out front.

Yea, the PDA HQ will be out tomorrow or in two days.

Geoff: Your latest building is quite nice. It is a change in style, which is nice. It's also obvious that your BAT skills are improving by leaps and bounds...

Im not to fond of the latest one it looks nice and all but it seems to boring. Perhaps make another shorter section at about 45 degrees to the current one making sort of a V out of it. Also i think it would look much better if alot more work were done on the top few floors to sort of give them a more decorative feel or perhaps a pent house. Or better yet make it step down floor by floor from the spire back sort of like this pic of the MGM grand
