I need someones help, to make some lots for my residential building.

I used sc4 plug in manager, to put the house model into the residential section, but when I went to the residential lots in lot editor, I didnt find my building.

However, I did use the building as a prop on a park, so the players can use it anytime and anywhere they want.

Sounds like the building was too big for the lot. You will only see buildings that fit on the lot that's currently selected. Make sure that your building is less than 16 metres deep and wide if you want it to fit onto a 1x1 lot.

You can also, if the bat is slightly too big "resize " it in the plugin Manager as shown infra:

resizebat.jpg

You can degrease lenght and width in order to fit in your lot, without resizing your lot or your bat in Gmax and have to re-export again! Hope it helps! :thumb:

Well the problem is not that, because i turned the building to a prop, but no problem to use it as a building as amthaak showed how :D

No! the size of a bdg 1x1 is 16mx16m . It is just an example to show you which nbrs you have to change in order to fit to your size lot. For instance a lot 2x2 is 36mx36m . If your bat is for instance 37,025mx36.1259m you can then slighly reduce these dimensions in order to fit with 36x36! Hope it's understable...! :thumb:

I remember having the same problem when I was working with Building Architect Tool.

As far as I can remember I solved it by moving the BAT to X=0; Y=0 and re-fitting LOD's. Then export it again.

That was the way it worked for me when I had the same problem.

hehe, it is actually very easy to make. First make a sphere with the diameter of the dome you want. Then set hemisphere to 0.5 and increase the number of segments (double the amount of ribs you want). Then convert the sphere to an editable poly. Now comes the long and boring part since gmax doesn't have a loop function for edges: in top view and in edge mode select every other line of edges that go into the middle. If you have done that, scale the edges to the desired scale ( make sure to only scale in x and y directions and not z). That's it ;) The mirror effect is done with a 3ds max material and is unfortunately impossible in gmax

Yeah that's a long and boring way, I use 3ds max too, so, is there a short way to do it like you just did?

    I forgot to mention that.

there's an even easier way to select the segments to scale: Select one of the vertical segments, select the loop (shortcut is ctrl-L), then under the graphite modeling toolset selection, hit the dot ring button. It's the 4 horizontal lines, 2 green on top and bottom, 2 grey in the middle. This will select every other segment in the ring.

This is what I've done so far:

This model is not textured yet, and it is with real life dimentions.

So exporting it to Simcity4 is going to be a problem, because it would be too small for simcity 4 in the term of height, those walls are 8 meters high for example, and in simcity4 they would be, too short, but not sure, what do you think?
