Hey Guys,

When can we some some interchanges for the RHW (interchanges like those on the standard game highways only for the RHW)?

Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya - I was told once that the region view isn't wired to detect the ANT, so the method used by the other transport mods out there wouldn't be applicable here. All those map mods did was set the colors for settings that already existed, which you can see by opening them up in the reader. There is not, however, a setting for ANT color. I interpreted that as meaning it's something that's EXE-dependent. Not that I don't wish it were possible too. 1.gif

Duke87 - What you mention is in the unmodded game already with the ave-hwy or oneway-hwy transitions. I guess that's just the nature of highgways in SC4. Makes me think of driving on highways in UDI and running into cars in the next lane...

Has development stopped?
Sorry for being impatient, but I am really looking forward to all updates of this project.

No, development hasn't stopped. We are now an official part of the NAM. But the system that activates the RHW tiles has been depreciated and is in the process of being updated, which will take a while.

If any team members are listening, I'll talk to you guys soon. I've been very busy recently.46.gif

*hears the top-secret call and rushes to the scene...*

qurlix, you're not the only one, at least I'm finished all of my independant-studies-projects-and-the-like... and I'm able to rest for a a few days at least before exams... and then the nonstop, no-free-time craze starts again...

The only thing I've accomplished is a rough texture for a oneway-to-RHW transition/ junction.

Any comments are appreciated... I'll eventually get to one with actual acceleration/ deceleration lanes...

Looks like the RHW-one way road transition is a good starting point for the eventual development of RHW interchange ramps...

Just to inform you... I'm still here to do texturing like a maniac, but ST is horribly laggy for me. Anyway, I want something to do. The days are getting boring again for me. Maybe try to do a higher-quality version of that oneway exit? Or whatever. I. Am. Still. A. Maniac. Texturer. I just need a task to accomplish by it. Please, give one to me? *puppy face* Really. And wouldn't be bad either if I knew about the progress, too. As said, ST is laggy as hell for me, and that's the reason I've been quiet for last two months or so... But I'm pretty sure something has happened around here. Right?

Thank you, thank you, thank you to those working on this project! I see a lot of impatient people who don't realize how LONG these things can take... (Common problem - I'm involved in the community for a particular freeware game where the exact same things happen...)

I just wanted to not only express my thanks and gratitude for this cool toy, but also hope to express the views of hopefully the silent many who say: Hey, of course we want it NOW NOW NOW! because it's so cool, but we will gladly wait as long as it takes, understanding the effort involved for something that only seems to garner criticism for anything and everything.

    RHW Rocks! :D

    Hi,
I just downloaded the v12 of the RHW and there seems to be a problem...
When i laid down the atn once i could not see it. it was invisible but when i added one more atn next to it, it became the RHW. But when i tried to keep space between the two both would disappear. They would disappear even when i turned then did anything except going straight. Pls reply and solve prob.

PS: I jus love ur work
    Keep it up

    TJ

Hey! I am new at this. I read your RHW readme. file. Where do I find the NAM file; and if overridden by another mod what do I do?

    Thanx

Well that you could have found the answer on by searching.

It's found in the Modding Files section:
    NetworkAddon (October 2005) for PC
    NetworkAddon (October 2005) for Mac

that's righteous vester_DK! i am really impressed with this Sim community. thanks a million; I am now in the process of downloading the NAM. just think the members of Sim community are virtually total strangers, and yet we offer help in an instant at no cost. if the real world behaved like this, e.g. a disease like HIV or lung cancer could be cured within a year or two at very little cost.

sorry to get off on a tangent, but i am .....!

You can't keep me from texturing. Well, that said I think it's fine to show you my latest creation... What about this for a RHW exit to one-way? It has acce/decceleration lanes, which can also be lengthened if you think it's better that way. Or whatever, anyway, here it is...

Zeddic: that looks nice, though the shape seems... odd. I'd try 'rectangulising' the shape of it, or at least lenghtning the curve and/ or changing the 'calibre', because you wouldn't normally see curves like that on a sliproad. Hopefully you'll understand what I mean.
I'm not sure whether to start on a junction with actual acceleration/ decelerations lanes (mine was intended to be a backup in the case where there was only 2x2 tiles of space), because it looks like you'll have it covered with a bit of minor touching-up.

By the way, it seems ST is much faster than the last few times I have tried to visit, always reassuring. Now back to studying for exams...

So when will these be released? Sorry to be pushy, but I need it soon for a special reason. Can't wait til they are out! 19.gif

Well, I made it a little bit more gradual... Just to note, this is the smoothest I can practically make it without having to use an extra tile... Currently it only uses two tiles of RHW and two tiles of one-way. (The top one of those 3 RHW tiles is a regular one; I only put it there for this not to look odd.)

The ramp transition to the one-way-road looks better and better every time I see it. Great job!

Just another texture I made this morning...
    rhw_exittodow.jpg
    RHW exit to diagonal one-way
That curve might seem a bit sharp, but I've seen worse:
    stosde.jpg
80 degree turn in 25 meters. And that's a major interchange between two grade-separated highways! So... this should be fine. 19.gif

Well, thank you! 48.gif Additionally, I now made 'mini-exits' for both road and street. I know that there is a street one already, but nevertheless I made it. You could waste five minutes for worse stuff, right?

    road_rhw_end_2.jpg

    street_rhw_end1.jpg

BTW, qurlix or noone or whoever... I have PNG versions of these textures; I'm not sure but I think they have a little bit better image quality, so I can send them to be converted insetad of these.
