wow, that is really cool.  Do you have to do those one square section (town) at a time, or can you do it at the region map.
In any case, this region is 3 kinds of awesomeness 44.gif

    Welcome to page 3

Thank you very much to everyone who is interested in this topic.

    Farkas:
So you found the NAM and installed it. Did you read the Read-Me? This is very important since it will not work correctly if you simply put everything in your plugin folder.
Well, there has to be much more. Have a look at your highway menu and your public transport menu. Also you can try to lay intersections like road to avenue corner. You simply have to try.

About the map: Unfortunately you have to do all terraforming in one city tile at a time. This is the reason why you can see those ugly straight lines here and there.

I am glad that you like it. I will continue on it.

If you want to see real terraforming you should visit MrCinatit's Adventures in Terraforming . By many he is considered to be the best terraformer arround here. But see for your self.

For everyone interested, this is the north east corner of the new map:

    cadottbayne4ty.jpg

I have tried to create mountain lakes and creeks but it is difficult, since the water only appears on height zero.
What do you think? Do they look natural? I am not quite sure about that.

The tour to the west part of the village will be posted later this day. So have a look if you want to see it.

Day four of the UK village tour

Today we left our famous Yorkshire Grey heading to the west. We weren't expecting great things after yesterdays disappointment. We didn't have a great day, too. But it wasn't that bad either. It started rather relaxing. All we saw were houses and farms.

    aukvillagepart716uz.jpg width=800 alt=Im

    And farms.

    aukvillagepart721fa.jpg width=800 alt=Im

    And more farms.

    aukvillagepart730rt.jpg width=800 alt=Im

    And even more farms.

    aukvillagepart749ot.jpg width=800 alt=Im

Until reaching the begining of the forest.

    aukvillagepart752wc.jpg width=800 alt=Im

One interesting thing we saw. A big villa.

    aukvillagepart766dg.jpg width=800 alt=Im

We examined it a little bit closer, wondering to whom it could belong.

    aukvillagepart77a2wx.jpg width=800 alt=I

Some people on the road told us who was living there. An industrial tycoon. And they showed us the way to his factory.

It was disgusting what we saw. A rather big industrial complex right next to the village. The air there was heavily polluted. What a smell! We bought a snack at the gas station next to it. The owner of it told us, that everyone in the village hated this factory. But there was nothing they could do about it. They needed the money they earned there. Living on the countryside is hard sometimes.

    aukvillagepart782dh.jpg width=800 alt=Im

On our way back to the Yorkshire Grey we passed the little school. Nothing spectacular, just an ordinary school. But for completeness sake I will include an image of it as well.

    aukvillagepart792qk.jpg width=800 alt=Im

That's it for now. There is only little left to visit. The tour will be continued soon.

    Comments are welcome, as always.

So detailed, again some very nice updates.
And I think your map is quite realistic, it is always a bit difficult how to start a creek in the mountains. But you have managed to make it look quite natural.

    Kwakelaar:
Thank you. Yes it is hard to build those creeks. I am glad that you like them.

    toxicpiano:
Thank you for answering. So I will have to call it town from now on.

    Off topic again

Encouraged, I started to plant some trees in my new map. Here is an image of the same mountain area:

    Suggestions?

The new region is looking promising, although the hills might prove a bit of a challenge for building.
If it's planning to be a UK-styled region, you might need to flatten the region a little... other than that it's great!

I'm looking forward to the new region!

Thank you. I will continue to work on this region. Occasionally I will show some things of it here.
I don't know which style it will get, yet. I am doing the terraforming now. Later I will see what kind of cities will fit in.

    pikatchoum:
Merci beaucoup. J'ai vu un peu de ton

Your use of the brick canal set is quite adept, and I think they fit in very well with the overall feel of the city. Also, as I said before, I really like the way those factories look in a semi-rural setting such as this.

Great CJ barnatom. As someone who lives in a UK village, i'd definetly say yours is more a town. Perhaps it started life as a village, but over time its grown into a small town.

Like the new region. Will you be putting this village in that region? be cool if you could. 9.gif

Does this village have a rural rail line through it? Or it is a little too small? A once daily coach service perhaps?

Very nice.....reminds me a little of the region Thames, very excellent stuff up your alley of work.

This is a great town! Looks like a pretty authentic English village... Gascooker's BATs are fantastic.

One question I have is about those dirt roads you have. Did you use Trolca's street mods for that? I have the mod, but unfortunately, it doesn't work too well, I get dirt roads in all my R$ areas, and if a R$$ crops up in-between, the road turns to its standard grey version. It just makes the place look terribly messy. I'd like to know how you overcame that problem.

    Keep up the great work.

I really like your use of gascookers bats, they give the village a more vilage appeal, most villages in outback australia are of these same 50's style repeated across the country

I also think a nice rural branch line that runs to somwhere on the outskirts. Also as your town gets bigger a shopping precinct in the centre would be nice. Some kind of bus station is also a good look. Otherwise very well done.

Really great pics dude! The mosaic shots are always welcomed. Any chance you have any nightshots? Good luck with your new region, looks like great terrain.

That river to the northwest looks like there should be a beautiful mountain town. I think maybe you can bring this city tile to your new region. Others will correct me if I am wrong.

Remember: Way more ppl look at your(or any) CJ than will actually leave a comment. I tend to lurk for weeks before I make a comment. Keep this in mind if you don't get the response you are looking for right away. No worries bro, you have tons of great pics and a skillful and purposefull building style. 44.gif

    Hello dear visitors

Thank you for viewing and replying!

    Traffic_Jam:
    Thank you.

    ketadream:
I hope you will enjoy it this time, too.

    jbridgman:
No, there is no rail line (yet). But read this update!
And thank you for this nice comment.

    jacqulina:
Great to see you back here! Yes, I know. Terraforming is hard to learn. But you are doing it so well already.
I am glad that you like the mosaics.

    artemis:
Thank you for your nice words.
I am using jeronij's new version of the dirty street mod. It is working perfectly, and diagonal streets work as well. Have look at the Stex searching for 'dirt' and you will find it.

    PhilsCafe:
I am glad that you like the details. Glad that you have found this CJ, too.

    Deathtoall:
Yes, gascooker's BATs are great, aren't they? As I have said in my first post, this village came to live as a test with his buildings.

    GingerBlokey:
Thank you for repying. See this update for your ideas.

    mteach2000:
Thank you for this great post! I am sorry, since I am playing on a Mac the BAT nightlighting does not work. So night shots look rather dull.
I am more relaxed now getting no replies sometimes. I was only wondering what was happening for the first time that occured.

    New developement in the village

This high tech area has got some redevelopement.
    Before:

    aukvillagepart813kc.jpg

    And after:

    aukvillagepart823hl.jpg

    aukvillagepart833mq.jpg

And at the same time a new sport park has opened its ground nearby.

    aukvillagepart844ir.jpg

    aukvillagepart859vn.jpg

Here an overview of the area:

    aukvillagepart869ni.jpg

    And other news:
Due to popular request, construction of a local rail line connecting two nearby cities has been approved. It will pass the grounds of our village and will get a station there, too.
A commision has been set to work on the plans for the track. This is complicated work, since there are no undeveloped areas there the rail could go. Some parts of the village will have to be demolished. Of course, no one wants his house to get distructed. A discussion has started about it. But nothing is decided yet.

So, stay tuned if you want to see how this will go along.

    Comments are welcome, as always.
