Ballanced bats are ok, I'm good with custom bats, but its the 66 million dollar tree or 1000000000 k cash bunker stuff I was not looking for, just some old fashioned built up, where you dont pre-lay the highway system, or embank the entire water border till you save to do so...

please guys, not to be annoying...(im afraid since I only got 2 answers I may have done something wrong. I'm just wondering what the x multipliers are best to use for a realistic city. Oh yea Trafic cop works great, just wish it would be updated for the NAM stuff.... -

I am looking for CJ's that are not using money cheats so I can see some ways people have grown there cities witht he contstraints of cash and the game engine. Custom Bats are fine, even some of the GSX get 200 per month from a 3500 plop (considering thats what 19 years till its paid off, thats not a bad thing) Any sugestions.

Help a poor mod newbie witth the NAM....

Ok so I guess the question remains due to the testing that others have done what is the best two traffic files to use.. Obviously Better or perfect pathfinding, but what about the other things like the *x Comp *x Commute *x Speed The docs do a good job of explaining what each of the values do, but the question I have is obviously these where created for a reason, and Im assuming the SC4/RH model is slightly flawed. Which if these brings it more in line with how it should be. I don't want a game where I can have 7.5 million people in a city and get 6 minute commute times. Or where streets can handle more traffic then they should. I tried to find some of the testing threads on traffic but most of them say to use the x10 mod as it turns 150 minute commutes into 15 minutes...and that may not be what I want. So far I'm using the Standard ones. My cities are small at the moment as I am just getting back into things but if there is some logic flaw that these mods clear up I want to take advantage of that... Thanks -
Hi, My name is Ket and Im a Mod Addict... It started so simple enough a mod here and a mod there, then I found simtropolis (moans from the crowd) then my life was consumed by mods. I had to get a mod in the morning, have a mod at lunch and mod at night. Eventualy my wife, left me for a BAT'ER but I still have my mods so everything is ok.... Just one day at a time... Hi folks, Im kinda new and been reading as much as I can. I understand what the traffic files do, and how they come in handy but I don't like making radical changes to the game engine. Currently I use Perfect pathfinding (I may switch to better pathfinding to see if performance increases, and i use the 24 hour automata files but I do not understand the X2 Cap and X2 speed and stuff traffic files. I mean I DO understand them. But I want to be as close to what the designers intended. in my games, even though they possibly messed some things up. I did some searching on traffic and found out about traffic cop which lets you set the speeds but it seems like the NAM stuff allready handles that. Ok good to go. So should I use the standard files (which I have no communite times seem reasonable in a 15k city im getting times that are slow but ok... I can see where MT has made some impact, and im not getting NJZ but my times are in the 40-50 minute for cross towns reasonable I guess... (i-95 at rush hour is a 1 hour commute by car... 2 by buss...) Austin is a easy communte into the collage (UT) hell anywhere else. Is the standard files the way to go, or is it best to jump to the other files. (x2cap/x2speed) type things. I did a search for traffic on the forums, but did not find the best ballance between real world and game engine. The documentation is great for technical info but I'm not sure why some of the more radical mods where created so I figure I would bounce the question to you.... To all membrs of the NAM team, amazing work.... I originaly bought SC4 the day it hit the company store (EA) and then rush hour... and my game play has been nothing but enhanced by BSC/BSCLS/CSX/NDEX/Some of the modders and of course NAM... You guys make SC4 what it is after 2 years. To those about to mod... we salute you!
