Before reading, please note that this takes place in downtown Birmingham, one of the places in the world I could never picture this happening.  It's kind of a rich, yuppie, and not to mention very safe suburb of the D.

Warning to Detroit youth: if you want to avoid altercations with dangerous rappers, stay away from the mean streets of downtown Birmingham.

No, really.

Birmingham resident Niles Heron, 19, says he was accosted by members of rapper 50 Cent

You see this is why all rappers should be lined up and shot int the lungs so they die a long and horrible death.

And this is my opinion in a good mood. The bad mood one involves Roy 'Chubby' Brown and a lot of brown sauce.

^ Uhm?  Doesn't that just perpetuate the violence though?  Keep in mind, no one got hurt in this article.  But I do feel what they did is absolutely ridiculous.  They prove they're tough enough in their music.  But going around Detroit stirring up trouble should land them a fine or jail time.

Yep, I guess Detroit was too tough for these thugs so they figured they'd hang out in the suburbs.  As tough as they may be, they'd never pull a stunt like this on Detroit's eastside or they'd be laying face down in the streets.  Instead they head to the safe suburbs where they pick on a kid, who apparently is a quiet, kind, and intelligent person.  The last person you would picture being caught up in a street-fight with a bunch of well known rappers.

True. But not all rappers are bad. Even Eminem is a good guy. It's mostly the 'gang' rappers that tend to cause trouble.

Oh believe me, I bet Eminem is ticked about this.  No wonder Em has claimed he is exhausted lately with Fiddy and gang making a mess of things under his record label.

after all G-Unot is from Jamacia Queens, wich is tough, but not as tough as other places.
If these Gangstas went to the Central Ward of Newark, Detroit or the South Bronx, they as wolverine said get their asses beat, infact G-unot is marketed to Upper Class Whites, and thats who buys them. pathetic.

Terminator, you are absolutely right.  I was walking past Comerica Park where the concert was held and there were all these rich white suburbanites trying to dress all gangsta walking around the streets of Detroit.  What a bunch of wannabees.

Most music nowadays sucks. Its all synthetic instruments and the lyrics mean absolutely nothing. This article makes rap even worse than it is! I wish they would make it illegal.

Ugghh, don't get me started on those gangsta wanna-be's! Early rap was okay, but today, no offense to people who like rap, makes me cringe. But people can like it if they want, this is just my opinion. The article shows why I have this view.

The thing that really gets me is that it's in Birmingham of all places. One of the wealthiest suburbs of Detroit...What the hell were they doing there in the first place?

Surprises me, this does not.  It seems some people just don't know that free speech & ideas are protected in the Constitution.

EDIT:  I'd also like to apologize for calling rappers idiots .  I don't mind them - I just think they need to tone it down a bit.

Rappers are not idiots. You guys have to understand and respect other peoples thoughts and feelings. I'm not fond of rock (sue me, go ahead) and I don't go around pwning them in forums.

Rappers are not idiots, there just very creative. Like other type of music it has a point (in some cases), rappers back then use to rap (which means Random Assorted Poetry btw) about the rough life in the hood when there growing up, which is great. But most of them today rap or badly sing about there big mansions, 28 rims, being a pimp, B's & H's, how they could get a some girl at a club into the bedroom and etc. Which I could careless for!! 26.gif

Ah... they aren't even real rappers.

Tupac, DMX- now that was rap.  I hate these new rappers, complaining about poverty when they have million-dollar record contracts.

Trying to assult someone over a shirt?  Idiots.  Now, if the guy had insulted them to their faces.... :sigh:  Fools.

DMX was a Good group IMO 10.gif. but aside from that, I just can't take all this rap gangsta hood crap anymore. It's one thing to have people sing about what they want to sing about, but to go and flaunt it to others and to try to get every1 to follow their 'gang' as if it were a authorititive dictatorship. I have friends who are into the whole rap/gangsta thing, and all I see is a bunch of guys my age who can't see past the streets they live in and their allegience to an illegal and publically disruptive gang.

No offence to you guys that like rap, (Cash Money and Eminem are my favorites) but alot of this gangster rap is just too much, and the culture that it's breeding...well it just speaks for itself; rich wannabees acting ghetto in the 'burbs and gang members assaulting a person for color/clothes/music likes/etc. Just too much. Personally I think that we should send all these gangster soljuz into the army, n into a war. I'm telling you we would end alot of this gang business. But that's a radical PoV. (It'd be cool though!)

The music that terminator claimed is replacing rap: well it isint as popular as ti was in 2002-03, and thats good, but the downside is its being replaced with Crap like dont you wish your girlfriend was hot like me DAMN IT! I HATE THAT SONG!!!! they were playing it in Best Buy, and i just got so pissed off, and all the dump preppy kids will buy this crap..... I don't find it that bad..its actually catching if you allow yourself to listen to it (like that Turn Me On song that was stuck in my head for 2 months)

I'm just guessing, that you guys that hate rap music, grew up in a middle class envoirenment where your parents listened predominantly to artist like david Bowie, and Sting. Im just saying, that you probably dont like rap because it was bestowed in your head that rap music is nothing but untalented gibberish. Well, many inner city people, were raised the same thing thinking about rock. They have said that all rock music is screaming or love songs. See whats wrong? Neither of the 2 groups open thier minds and embrace anything they weren't raisesd to tolerate. People just need to be more open and not talk about murdering people because they rap instead of playing the giutar.

But today, rap music is getting worse than it already is. Now, I love artist like Dr. Dre, NAS, Scarface, Slick Rick, and other Gansta rap artist, but todays artist have gone too far.  What bothers me is not the OMG, my kids have to listen to somebody express thier opinions with bad words! nonsense that many suburbanits preach, but rather what the focus of rap has become. Its evolved from being about dance music (disco) to talking about political movements (Rodney King) and life on the streets. Now, its escalated to talking about hoes and pimpsticks. Lets me ask you something, is it gansta to get an HIV? Its just sad, when not too long ago, public enemy and NAS started a liberating political moevement to incourage minorities to vote and take part in thier community, but todays number 1 rap hit repeats Back then hoes didn't want me, now im hot, hoes all up on me about 30 times.

Rappers need to quit bragging about thier wealth status, and focus on politcal issues and social issues. They have a large influence on many minority groups, so they could instell productive ideas through thier music. If mike jones quit talking about how much of a loser he was 2 years ago, and started talking about minorities looking for employment or vounteneteering in thier community, rap music would become useful, then maybe middle class whites wouldn't think of them so bad.

If G-unit wasn't so busy bragging about thier social status and beating up kids who challenge it, maybe rap could be useful to society instead of hurting it. Thats all i have to say, well, for right now...
