How do you return to factory settings?

I installed SC4 Deluxe a few days ago. I found the perfect spot to put a city, but I messed up the zones. I decided to delete the city, not knowing that deleting the city also deletes the perfect landmass that it was on! 26.gif I tried deleting SC4, but it didn’t revet the game to the original settings. How do you do that?

Anyways, if that is impossible, does anyone have the original Timbuktu to play on? If you do that would be fantastic. 44.gif

You could try to start the game with an empty 'Regions' folder - that should restore 'Timbuktu', as that holds all the tutorials...

And to get rid of a city without destroying the landmass - don't delete it, just blow it up ;-)

    how you do what exactly?

Blowing up: When you play a city, mess it up, klick on the sun and then on the blow up tool shown above.

And to restore the timbuktu region, just replace the timbuktu-folder in the my documents -> sim city 4 -> regions folder with the timbuktu-folder found in the games installation path's region folder, usually something like c-> maxis -> sim city 4 -> regions or just look where the sim city 4 shortcut links to by right clicking on it.

GMT has it pretty much right, but only if you were using the windows version...

There are two ways of doing this.

You could either insert the CD, go to the data folder, then Regions, and copy and paste the Timbuktu folder into the regions folder into the regions folder, located in the same sim city folder as you place your plugins, it will be inside the documents folder.

Or, go into applications -> SimCity 4 -> SimCity 4 data Regions, then copy the Timbuktu folder to Documents -> Simcity 4 -> Regions.

If you have developed other cities and want to keep them, then you can look for the corresponding city file inside the Timbuktu folder, but that would be fairly difficult.
