Superduperjuperlupersuper update once again! 35.gif

Your skills are very good, I love the way you integrated the tramlines in your city, im still having lot of trouble with them.

How did you get all those military props without textures underneath them? Did you make special props and placed them by using mayor tree tool or what?
They look super! 36.gif

Love to see more!

LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR!

Thanks for all the comments, everyone.. Looks like whenever there's a new page interest drops a bit.. Too bad, but hey.. That gives me plenty of reasons to just throw in another update to rekindle the interest with you guys and girls and perhaps a few newcomers.. Once more: thanks a lot!

I was working on an issue of the Imperial Times again and I finally finished it today after doing bits and pieces for the past week.. Unfortunately it's a bit outdated by now, since Kumba posted an update in the Pakkusena thread regarding the situation, starting with renewed diplomatic contact between Chaumont and Pakkusena.. Anyway, you've all been warned.. The paper is outdated.. Don't start digging a trench and building a fall out shelter again, Kwakelaar! 18.gif

Anyway, let's proceed to the Personal Comments and then onward to the new newspaper..

No wait.. First I'd like to clear something up.. Some of you have asked me about the turrets, so I'll just explain that before we go to the personal comments.. The turrets are my own creations, which have not yet been released.. I decided to keep them to myself, though they could have been seen earlier on Simcity Central in another thread. Right now I'm still pondering wether or not to release them..

    Personal Comments:

Pipishere: Thanks for your comment, Pipishere! As for the tanks, they can be found somewhere in the 'Massively Gigantic Japanese BAT thread' . Unfortunately I don't remember on which of the 47 pages they can be found, nor which Japanese BATter created them.. Sorry about that.. Really wish I could help out..

Meinhosen: Wow.. That was a very short comment, Meinhosen.. Thanks though! 44.gif

Aleking: Thanks for your comment, Aleking!

Jglei701: Yep.. If Pakkusena wants Chaumont, they'd have to pry it from the Emperor's cold dead fingers.. And even then they'd have a hard time.. Thanks for your comment!

Exhagaga: Thanks for your comment! I thought it was about time to show something of the island.. The problem was that Kumba and I already had a story figured out, but I hadn't found the time to work on Malcheveux yet.. Fortunately I had some free time the past few days and decided to just go at it..

As for Clockwork Orange.. Very true.. Quite a disturbing view of the future, but also strangely intriguing..

Deathtoall: Haha.. Yeah, I definitely love Simcity.. There are only two games installed on the computer at the moment: Rome - Total War and Simcity 4.. Sometimes I download a few demos and install a few other games, but usually I end up going back to those two.. Don't know what it is, but they have huge replay value I guess.. 9.gif

Nik-nik: Thanks for your comment! As for spending all my free time.. Well, that's not entirely true.. I do have a life outside of Simcity, but whenever I can find the time, I try to make the best of it.. And above all, I do this to offer other people a new perspective on Simcity.. So far I think it's going pretty good.. 31.gif Those bridges over Oppie's canals are two seperate ones.. The white one can only be downloaded from Simcity Central  and is modelled after a famous Dutch drawbridge in the centre of Amsterdam.. The other one is nothing more than a so-called bridge piece.. You just place it next to a road and do the same thing on the other side, and now it seems as though the road has become a bridge, whereas in reality nothing has changed.. Hope that helped!

Weird: Thanks for your comment! That was a great compliment.. Thanks! 9.gif

Jasperdeman.nl: Haha.. Thanksibanksikranksidanksi, Jasper! The tramlines were definitely very troublesome, but it helps when you design the most important part of your city, grow it a bit and then expand on that.. That's how Saint Anne grew into what it is now..

As for the transparent base textures on the military lots, I started searching for that yesterday and found this thread: 'Transparent LE Texture' . Swamper77's second comment really helped me with creating those lots.. As for placing them, they're nothing more than parks without effects, without power and water requirements and so on.. Good luck with it!

Sloppet: Thanks for your comment! And I definitely will..

Right, that was it for today.. See you later.. Oh wait.. I think I forgot something.. Right, I should stop trying to be funny and should just show the bloody newspaper.. Ok.. Here goes.. 9.gif

    Enjoy!

A world at peace is a world in a smoking cinderbox. someone said that to me.

Great update(s). I like the Island of Malcheveux. Where did you get those gun batteries, or did you creat them your self. Should PM you instead.
I like the Update because I finally get to see the island that you have been fighting for. And now you may be going back to war. Will keep watching!

WOW! Chaumont is absolutely amazing! Amazing enough to entice me out of lurking and posting for the 1st time! 44.gif19.gif44.gif29.gif

This is absolutely amazing - am following the development of this situation with bated breath.... the question is will Pakkusenna make a move?????

It's a shame to hear that peace negotiations are falling apart. Although I remain impartial (for obvious reasons) I applaud your clear attempt at securing peace. The discussion about this conflict in the SCJU has pretty much turned to investigating Newark and Giran de Cani's involvement, but I think this announcement will spark new life into the debate.

Thanks so much for the replies everyone.. I don't really have an update ready at the moment and I don't think I'll manage to do one in the weekend, since it's my brother's birthday tomorrow (and coincidentally also the dog's birthday..), but I'll see what I can arrange on Sunday..

First some personal comments and then the news I planned on giving you..

    Personal Comments:

Pepsi71Ocean: Thanks for your comment.. As I mentioned in the previous update, the gun turrets are my own BAT creation, not yet released.. I don't think we'll be going back to war, but you'll never know.. 48.gif

Me_Simon: Thanks for your comment! Haha.. Well, Chaumont is a region in France that I happened to stumble across while I was trying to come up with a country name.. After that, I thought; 'hey, 'Empire of Chaumont' doesn't sound half bad..' Basically that's the story of Chaumont earliest development.. From that point on, I started thinking up the history that you can read on page 1..

As for those soldiers, they too are my own BAT creations, though I must admit that, since I also own Cossacks 2, I have been influenced by that game a bit..

Slann: Thanks for your comment and thanks for choosing Chaumont for your first comment! Not a bad choice! 9.gif Welcome to Simtropolis and welcome to Chaumont! Also, the Viceroyalty of Dominea sounds like an interesting City Journal as well.. Nice name! Anyway, we'll see how this situation develops..

Exhagaga: Haha.. Yeah, well.. We'll see.. What's that saying again? The Dutch version is: 'a cornered cat makes unexpected moves' but I can't remember what the English version is.. And you're welcome for that link.. I found it to be very useful..

Jerebannus XVI: Same here! I can't wait to see the next incarnation of Giran de Cani.. Thanks for your comments and you're most welcome.. That's what allies do, right? 9.gif

Hammo: Well, I wouldn't say the peace negotiations are falling apart, it's probably just a bit of stalling from the Pakkusenan side.. From Kumba's latest update, there's an indication of new developments on that front.. I think it'll be alright.. 16.gif Well, good luck in the SCJU.. I hope Chaumont and Pakkusena won't break the SCJU apart.. Let's just regard this as an early test of the SCJU or something.. 9.gif

That's it in terms of personal comments..

I've been working on a new Signature picture today, since the old one didn't really seem to do the Empire any justice anymore.. It had a screenshot of the old Chaumont in the background, it didn't really stand out and somehow something seemed missing..

    Here's what I'm talking about:
    JM-Signature1.jpg

    And here's the new one:
    Signature-new2.jpg

I don't like tooting my own horn, but I personally think it looks much better.. Let me know what you guys (and girls) think about it!

Hmm, you'll have to forgive me for leaving a hit-and-run comment last time (RL, 'nuf said).  Malcheveux is just fantastic- I see why Chaumont and Pakkusena would want to fight over it. 1.gif  I still love the newspapers, however outdated they may be.  And again, very nice use of custom lots and props in the past several updates.  I like the new signature tab, too.

I work for the US Army. I go places, visit mean people, and kill them.

Winston Churchill is generall credited for saying something to the effect of: "People sleep soundly in their beds because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf". That about sums up my life, besides the "rough men" part.

    *slinks out of the shadows*38.gif

wow this is an incredible cj. Occasionally, I have popped in here to see the broken links, confused as to what I was trying to see but couldn't, i left. Today I popped in for a quick peek and saw pics.

I sat down and read the whole story. Then I had to go back and look at it again, because in my rush to find out what happens next I wasn't looking at the pics or responses or anything else. Wow, the seamless story, incredible pics, custom bats, and other member participation. Amazing, simply amazing.

I can't wait for the next update. Keep it up, because I'm hooked.

    Hey Jarnomiedema,

Funnyly enough your CJ has spurned me to actually start working on my very own CJ! I am absolutely impressed by the depth you have put into Chaumont!

    Are you still exchanging embassies?42.gif

Keep up the good work - you have me sitting at the edge of my seat! 44.gif Love your new signature as well!!! 9.gif

    ooooh...more update more update!

I do love the embassies. You should upload the lots to STEX. Or, even better, we should start an embassy thread where regions can show off their own embassies. Different CJ's can then add them as you have done.

    Just a thought...9.gif

Maybe I will send you mine...once I have it done for my region.

No, ladies and gentlemen.. The reports of me abandoning Chaumont are highly exaggerated.. 9.gif Haha.. No, once again it's time for a real update, with actual pictures of the Empire! This time we shall once again be embarking on a little tour of the Capital, but this time we will be concentrating on the people living in the capital, rather than the monumental sights.. I hope you will enjoy your stay and feel free to leave a comment or constructive criticism!

But, as is almost traditional with an update for Chaumont, I will first start out with the personal replies to your comments!

    Personal Replies
(If anyone noticed that I suddenly changed from 'Personal Comments' to 'Personal Replies', you're correct.. This just sounds better.. 5.gif)

Electrobix: Thanks for your comment and welcome to Chaumont! You can always refer to the title that's located on the page instead of reposting the screenshot. I will still be able to reply to your request if you do.. No criticism or bullying, just trying to keep Chaumont as clean as possible.. 48.gif Anyway, the roundabouts and the tramlines (actually a new type of transportation instead of a replacement for the railway as you assumed..) can be found in the NAM (Network Addon Mod), which basically adds so much more to the game experience. You can find the NAM right here . The cobblestones you mentioned could be two things; either you mean the pavement underneath St. Paul's Cathedral by Frogface, which can be downloaded here  or you're talking about Marrasts wonderful Embankment set, which can be downloaded here . I hope you'll enjoy whichever of these files you'll need.. They've done a lot to enhance my Simcity experience!

Pipishere: Thanks for your comment! I see you've created a new Signature as well.. I think it looks great!

SoNell: Thanks for your comment and thanks for the compliment! As for the next update, no need to worry, look no further.. It's right down below.. 49.gif18.gif

Toxicpiano: Thank you for your comment, Toxicpiano, just thank you.. 18.gif

Meinhosen: You are forgiven, faithful commenter.. 9.gif I was just kidding in that previous post of mine.. I know how difficult it is to leave a comment when real life is waiting for you to return.. That's why I have so much appreciation for the comments that are left.. That reminds me: thanks for your comment! 19.gif

Sempi_Warrior: Aargh! Another one out of the shadows.. *heart returns to normal heart rate* Welcome to Chaumont and welcome to Simtropolis as well.. (I know you have 6 posts already, but that still makes you pretty new around here..) As for the broken links.. Yeah, I had that problem with ImageShack, but now I've switched to a new ImageHosting service at http://www.imgcity.net , which is absolutely amazing! Anyway, good to hear you're interested in Chaumont and even better to hear you've read the whole storyline.. That must've taken some time.. 6.gif As for the update, right down below!

Pepsi71Ocean: Thanks for your comment! I've just checked my PM box.. Didn't notice those flashing letters before.. And with the pop-up blocker activated, none of those notifications popped up either.. Anyway, expect a reply soon!

Elle_Driver: Thanks for your comment, I aim to please! And pretty is definitely what I have in mind when I take my screenshots.. 19.gif

Slann: I've just visited your City Journal and left a comment.. Despite the fact that there have not yet been any screenshots, I think it looks absolutely amazing so far! Keep up the great work.. 44.gif And, to anyone interested in Chaumont, take a look at the Vice Royalty of Dominea , because I have a feeling it'll be a big one! As for the embassies.. Yes, I am still exchanging them, but I'm currently in a bit of a secretive process with a Simtropolis BATter, who will remain nameless, who is currently working on a BAT which I'm allowed to use as an Embassy.. Unfortunately it's not available yet, so the people who I've agreed to exchange embassies with are going to have to wait for a little while longer.. But I promise it'll be there somewhere in the near future! (Oh, and I'd love to have an Embassy of Dominea in Mont Napoleon!)

Kant01: Prepare to be served with that new update! 9.gif I have wondered about posting the embassies on the STEX and perhaps I'll do that at later on, but somehow the exclusivity to Chaumont is also strangely appealing to me.. But then again, that's not very community friendly of me, is it? 9.gif And the Embassy thread is a really good idea! Perhaps that should be started somewhere.. Great idea! As for receiving your embassy, I would be happy to exchange embassies once mine is finished as well.. 18.gif

That's it in terms of personal replies, on now to that which you're no doubt more interested in!

    The update..

As mentioned before, we shall be looking at Mont Napoleon from a different standpoint.. That of the average resident or visitor of the Capital. As before, I shall comment on the pictures in small letters below the image and supply larger amounts of information about the building, neighbourhood or whatever else is visible in normal sized letters..

    Views1.jpg

    CentralStation2.jpg
    Mont Napoleon Central Station.

Mont Napoleon Central Station is usually the first thing visitors see of the Empire and of the Capital. The airport, which is located some distance from the Citadel, as the old centre of Mont Napoleon is called, has a direct rail link from the Airport Station to the Central Station. For tourists, the public transportation system is free of charge, as long as a passport can be shown. At night, Central Station is mostly a quiet and peaceful part of the City. Trains come once and go once an hour to allow people living near the railway lines to have a relatively good night's rest. As you can see, some of Mont Napoleon's business, located to the right, work deep into the night..

    MontNap123.jpg
    Walking past the formations..

The Camp Ceasar District, named after the nickname of the Imperial Military Academy, is the most beautiful residential area of Mont Napoleon. Not very different from the other residential areas, it has one distinguishing feature; Marshal Ney Square, the gigantic square, named after Napoleon I's most trusted Marshal. Marshal Ney Square doubles as the exercise ground for the recruits at the IMA, but is also freely accessible to the general public. The square is closed at special occassions only, such as the graduation period and a visit from the Emperor..

    MontNap24.jpg
Sound asleep as the trams roll along..

Near the Imperial Military Academy, not far from the Camp Ceasar District is this area. As you can see, Mont Napoleon's citizens are packed a little bit more tightly here along winding roads, tramlines, parkinglots and roundabouts. Nevertheless, this is still one of the richest areas of the Capital, due to it's proximity to the centres of power..

    MontNap105.jpg
The movie Spider-Man 3 is already being advertised in Mont Napoleon..

Not even the Capital could escape a certain amount of modernization and so, with special permission from the Emperor himself, the citizens of Mont Napoleon decided to tear down a small block of medium wealth residences to make way for the CineDom, Mont Napoleon's best and most visited Movie Theater. Blockbusters include 'My life as Emperor', 'Prison Camp Blues', 'Pakkusena: a Pushover' and ofcourse 'Die Hard', which is rumoured to be the Emperor's favorite movie..

    Loop1.jpg
Just when you thought you could get away from this place, you're looping right back into it..

Not far from the Cinedom lies the so-called 'Loop'. This is where Mont Napoleon's main tramline turns around as it nears the banks of the citadel and returns to the city centre. Surprisingly, people are flocking to this area, mostly because of it's amazing accessiblity, it's proximity to the beautiful and clean moat and it's amazing atmosphere..

    MontNap32.jpg
The Headquarters of the Imperial Secret Police.. Dum. Dum. Dummmm..

People always breath a sigh of relief once they've passed that big greyish building on their way to work. They've managed to slip past it once again without being arrested or picked from the crowd. That huge building, also the highest in Mont Napoleon, is the headquarters of the Imperial Secret Police, the watchdog of the Empire. 'The Imperial Secret Police makes sure that the Emperor's subjects feel safe and secure' as their brochure 'The Secret Police and I' mentions, but it is in fact one of the Emperor's many institutions to ensure the loyalty of his people and the discouraging of dissent. At times, people are picked at random for an interrogation, to see what they could be hiding and at other times, the officers of the Secret Police target a specific individual. You move up a floor, depending on the progress of the interrogation.. It has been rumoured that, once you're taken to the highest floor of the building, you will never return to your normal life and will probably spend it locked up in the Perignac Forced Labour Camp..

    MontNap43.jpg
Can't you just imagine yourself living here?

With the Imperial Chancellor's Residence and the Imperial Congress to the left, the American and British Embassies and the Imperial Palace further upwards to the left and the Citadel's moat to the right, this is one of the most beautiful and prestigious areas of the Capital. With it's own theater, private school, shopping mall and warehouse, this is sometimes referred to as the Village, because everything one might need is within arm's reach..

    MontNap54.jpg
Carrots, the largest warehouse of Mont Napoleon.

To the left we see Carrots, one of the largest warehouses of the Capital and certainly the most beautiful. Anything can be obtained here, from cars and motors to washers and dryers, to computer games and old fashioned wooden toys. Anything one's heart can desire can be purchased right here.. But, it also comes at a price that's usually unaffordable for Chaumont's middle class..

To the right we see the Headquarters of the Mont Napoleon Fire Department. There is a strict Fire code in effect in the Capital, which has ensured that the Fire Department has little to nothing to do during the average week. There is the occassional fire in the docks, the Industrial district or near the airport, but the residential and commercial areas are more than adequately protected. Homes and offices are all equipped with gas and smoke detectors, multiple on every floor and every street corner has a working fire hydrant. (But then again, the penalty for unscrewing or destroying one is 3 years of forced labour, so no one dares to damage them..)

    MontNap65.jpg
    VIP's only.

Carrots is opened till deep into the nightly hours. However, ordinary customers are not allowed to enter the warehouse at that time. From 23:00 to 6:00, the warehouse is opened to VIP's only, which means that you will only be allowed to enter with special permission from the warehouse's director, Mr. Jean-Paul Carrot. Only a select few are allowed to step inside..

    RembrandtTheater1.jpg
Rembrandt. Who doesn't love his paintings?

The Rembrandt Theater, named after Rembrandt van Rijn, the Emperor's favorite painter, is the most exclusive theater in the Empire. Tickets are immensely expensive and playing there as an actor is the highest honor one can receive. No-one has yet turned down an offer to come and play on stage at the Rembrant Theater. The building itself was built in traditional Dutch style, to honor the country of the painter after which the theater was made, and as such stands out from traditional Chaumontian architecture, which is more structured and symmetrical.. The Theater itself sits across the road from the sunken mall, which is the place to go for whatever purchase you would like to make, but can't afford the prices of Carrots..

    MontNap72.jpg
    # We don't need to education.. We don't need no thought control #
You can imagine that song never made the Top 40 here in Chaumont..

Chaumont ranks very high on the list of average intellectual development in the world. Chaumontian children start school at age four and usually finish that path of their life by the age of 24/25, with a university or college degree. What you see here is a typical Chaumontian school district. An elementary school close to a high school, which enables a smooth transition from one to the next, and a library, which will provide books on any subject to all those interested in reading them..

    MontNap113.jpg
Off for Pizza anyone? Spaghetti perhaps?

Little Italy, located on the Bastion Berthier, one of the Citadel's islands, used once for targetting threats to the Empire nearing the Capital, is currently a rich cultural area. The football field is the central meeting place during the week, for both young and old, whereas the Great Church of Saint Sebastian is the central meeting place on Sundays. The people of Little Italy are among the most devout residents of Mont Napoleon..

    ImperialLibrary4.jpg
A private library. Every historian's dream..

The Imperial Library, located close to Calignac House, the Imperial Palace, is the Emperor's Private Library. Napoleon I wrote and read a lot of books and soon his book collection could no longer be stored in the Palace itself. Construction on this building began in 1828 and finished almost a year later. Today, the building is still not accessible to tourists and other visitors and remains the exclusive domain of the Imperial family..

    Graveyard5.jpg
*Sing along to the tune of 'Going to the Chapel'*
    # Going to the Graveyard and we're.. #
    # Gonna get Buried.. #
    # Going to the Graveyard of Death..#

Living near a cemetery, while considered creepy by some, is actually quite a good choice for residents of Mont Napoleon. No noisy neighbours, a beautiful tranquill environment only a few meters away and most importantly, some of the best Halloween parties in the Empire!

Bonaparte Tower, home to Lawrence, Lawrence and Olivier, attorneys at law.

This is Bonaparte Tower, one of the Capital's none governmental skyscrapers. This building is owned by Lawrence, Lawrence and Olivier, attorneys at law. They will help you file just about any charge you can come up with, as long as it's not directed against any member of the Imperial Family and as long as they can earn huge amounts of cash in doing so.. The building's cheery exterior doesn't detract from the despicable things that go on inside and most of the time people who walk past it think of a family member who in some way had a run in with these 'gentlemen'..

The clocktower of the Reformed Church of Mont Napoleon, still standing.

A Chaumontian from the time of the Civil War would probably not recognize his city as it looks today, but this district would look vaguely familar. The Union Bombardment during the siege of Mont Napoleon, devasted more than half of the city, but left one thing standing as if by a miracle. The clocktower of the Reformed Church of Mont Napoleon bravely stood up against the shells and bullets. The church itself was destroyed, but the clocktower survived the siege, still bearing the scars of war. Today, it is a monument to the immense devastation one people can bring down on another and is a gathering place to pacifists from all around Chaumont. Every year, on the day that Chaumontians commemorate the siege (February 20th) the Imperial Family and dignitaries of the Empire come here to lay wreaths and hold two minutes of silence..

Was that a car I just heard wooshing by, dear?

Chaumont's highways are all sunken. This has been done to ensure that motorists wouldn't be distracted by traffic and buildings all around them and to provide the people who would have to live around the area with at least some sort of peace and quiet. Due to the dampening effect of the trees and the strict speed regulations on the highway, these residents hardly ever notice that they're so close to so much traffic. We have now also officially left the citadel. This neighbourhood lies close to the city centre, but is on the other side of the moat and therefore not part of the Chaumont's most prestigious areas..

Remember the expansion of the Capital..

During the late nineteenth century, Mont Napoleon continued to expand further outwards, until the edges of the citadel were reached and overpopulation was starting to threaten the Capital. Since the Civil War had ended and it did not seem likely that the Empire would have to fight another war on it's own territory in the foreseeable future, Emperor Julien II decided to cancel the ban on building outside the citadel and began planning new neighbourhoods immediately. To commemorate the lifting of the ban, the citizens of Chaumont donated this clocktower to the people of Mont Napoleon, so they would always be able to know the time..

Wiltshire Tower, in the centre, is one of the most beautiful buildings in the Empire. The highest apartments have an amazing view across the Citadel Moat into the city centre..

    MontNap15.jpg
Close to the moat of the Citadel, the buildings are still mostly in the style of the city centre. Further outwards, the buildings become more and more modern..

During the early twentieth century, more and more buildings rose on the outskirts of the Capital. Slums were not tolerated. Every family was enable to live a reasonably wealthy life and those who could not manage to do so where forced to live in the villages that surround the capital or the low wealth neighbourhoods of nearby cities.. Large housing projects started to emerge and very soon, some of the most beautiful high rise and medium rise buildings arose..

Sst! I'm trying to read here!

The construction of the highways in the early 1950's around Mont Napoleon posed some problems due to the already existing infrastructure and the reluctance to demolish too many historical buildings. That meant that, sometimes, unusual decisions were made. This is one of them. This tunnel leads travellers directly underneath the Marshal Valiant library, and takes them to the other side of this neighbourhood. Despite the fact that citizens live very close along the highway at this point, all sorts of regulations for traffic flow and heavy insulation of their homes have ensured that the inhabitants of this area have no complaints about the highway whatsoever..

Chaumontian goods, waiting to be exported to Giran de Cani.

Mont Napoleon Harbor is very small in comparison to the largest harbor in the city of Brumaire. But nevertheless, it was still the first harbor in the Empire. The canal that connects Mont Napoleon to both the Atlantic Ocean and the inland lake have made it possible for this inland city to have a harbor of it's own. It was constructed shortly after the canal was finished. Today, Mont Napoleon's harbor is mostly a short stop before the ships travel further up the canal to Brumaire, but there were days in the past when these docks were full of bulky men who carried

    jarno,

I don't even know where to begin.  Mont Napoleon is such a great mix of New and Old World building styles that its just astounding.  You've got a real talent for mixing styles of architecture to get a great feel for the French/American mix that Chaumont appears to be.  From the sunken highways to the story behind Carrots and the clocktower, I think this was your best update yet.

Keep it up.  And don't loose that eye for amazing screenshots. 2.gif

I work for the US Army. I go places, visit mean people, and kill them.

Winston Churchill is generall credited for saying something to the effect of: "People sleep soundly in their beds because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf". That about sums up my life, besides the "rough men" part.

another great update. i like the sunken highway, very well done. i also like to see when people grow their transportation network when its needed. when they try to squeeze it in to an already growing city they have to make tough choices, like what to bulldoze, what to save and in certain cases some creative problem solving. i also like the educational block; the schools and libraries all placed in one spot. i tend to do the same thing when i build cities. great work.

Aaaah, (putting shovels away), I missed two updates.

Mont Napoleon is looking splendid, I have rarley seen a city like this in Simcity, you have been able to make something quite unique with your mix of home-made and imported BAT's.
I just hope you enjoy making this CJ as much as I enjoy reading it.
