  1. The Empire of Chaumont - 'Delightfully Oppressive'

top quality CJ .....except one of my city's is called Chaumont as well; when I was deciding what to name my 'french' style city i opened up a map of france and randomly pointed at a town are those soldiers from Cossacks 2? because they look familiar....
  2. Grid secrets: a tutorial CJ

very nice guide frndofyaweh but the idea of avenues everywhere turns me off a little, i prefer roads and use avenues to connect neighbourhoods hmm....i use to go 6x6 in simcity3000 but i never went back to that, i just used 4x4 cos of the 2x1 blocks of land
  3. New York city in 2095

doesn't look like it has land - i think it's just all water look at the grayscale picture
  4. Show Us Your Citys Signature Avenue/Boulevard/Drive!

Chaumont's signature boulevard named Central Boulevard The way I construct my 'special boulevards' is the way some roads are like in Paris - a two lane bus lane in the middle and one way roads down the side; since there are no special bus lanes available in Simcity 4, a road will do Southern end of the boulevard Splits off into an elevated road that links to the Memorial Boulevard while the other is Presidential Boulevard which goes off to other suburbs, airport and hi-tech industries The Memorial Boulevard - A stock exchange and a rememberance building Presidential Boulevard - Next to the nature reserve in the middle of the city; the main city hospital and near the hi-tech industries
  5. PEG Fountain Pack 1

    Excellent :D - Simcity4 doesn't come with any 1x1 fountains and I love these :P
  6. NEW Geography Bee

arghhh! bees! count me in! edit: aww man []
  7. White and Tarmac Trail Bus Stop

awesome - fits very well with the paths
  8. Sculpting Columbia River

Oh my, you are my god of simcity4, I've read every single page, and have taken into account every aspect and the great tutorials of this city journal - I've decided to post my appreciation and my congratulations on how good that airport looks!!! Runway East has to be my favourite picture of them all!
  9. County of Cumberland

thanks for the comments guys, i might continue it next weekend also, is there a shortcut key for taking screenshots? (without resorting to the printscreen key)
  10. County of Cumberland

hello, this is my first journal here, and i'd like to say, all the other journals here are excellent ....sadly i have no time to play simcity4 , i ended up uninstalling simcity a while ago, but i got really bored today and installed it, no cheats [maybe except the god mode in game ], no mods, no props, just simcity4+rush hour... - and this is most likely a one off journal, showing the cities i created today on the rush hour starting region 'timbuktu' ....well lets get to the pictures then - 1. Picture of the region, just a quick aerial shot 2. another quick aerial with the names removed 3. and a transportation overview 4. First town, Township of Cumberland, population 10 427 5. town centre, i didn't realise how effective the feeder system, street -> road -> avenue, was - and will be seen throughout 6. The agricultural island of Cumberland, the Cumberland Highway runs through the middle but is only two lanes wide, with a few small estates on the island, linked to the mainland by vehicular ferry 7. more farms 8. industrial heart, running alongside the Cumberland Highway, shown as a dual carriageway road, intersecting Graham Drive, which runs from the industrial estate and Cape Roberta to Graham City 9. Graham Drive and the industrial estate 10. Poor commercial planning in the centre forced a medium density shopping area on the way to Graham City and Pollan 11. on to the township of pollan! population 8 933. comprising of farming area, suburbia and small coastal and farming communities, the success of this area has been linked with the wind mills providing all the power without needing a coal power station harming the farmlands 12. pollan town centre 13. mayoral estates and the farmer's market can be seen in this picture, oh and the large suburbia which i forgot to put the sign saying Pollan Plains...that should attract homebuyers 14. the farming centre of Velmarton and the farmers markets, that crossroad intersection is very busy with freight and commuters, i was thinking of building a bypass but these sims don't like my bypasses for some reason 15. my poor attempt at the skywriting, guess what it was suppose to be .........yeah its suppose to be a heart, love the colour variety! 16. the mighty cumberland highway, the backbone infrastructure of the region, you can just see the old cumberland highway up in those hills, now replaced by the flatter wider roadway....deletion of those hilly roads was uneccessary as residents have already moved there 17. a usually common sight along the pacific highway in new south wales, overtaking lanes! where a small stretch of road is three lanes wide and goes for about 1km, giving the drivers an opportunity to pass slower vehicles which they might have been caught behind 18. visual extent of the farmlands and regional airport serving....143 people! 19. the velmar light industrial park alongside the modern Velmar-Graham Highway interchange 20. velmar seaside, small coastal village, shown here, is the stadium poorly located (no other place to put it) and the intersection of the cumberland highway (recently upgraded to dual carriageway, the old cumberland highway is seen running through the village - the upgrade is yet to continue along the pollan coast) 21. now just a short drive east with the only road connected between pollan and cape roberta is at 90% capacity is the town of cape roberta, population 4 733. a lighthouse is yet to be erected on this site.... 22. quick overview 23. quick picture of the south twin island located inside cape roberta's borders 24. town centre 25. beach, suburbia, industry, the way of life here in cape roberta 26. roberta harbour, exports, and vehicular ferry rides to south twin island and cumberland/island 27. hmm back to that ferry.....the twin islands, poor economy, but struggling to develop....population 141 inside the borders, but on the twin islands themselves i estimate about 300 28. north twin 29. south twin 30. graham city, population 13 113, regional airport located here, not really a large city but has potential in serving the region 31. picture of the utilities in the mountains 32. picture of the regional airport, bogged with pollution but a nice looking entrance 33. town centre! 34. graham point, oldest residential area 35. and 36. random shots at suburbia layout 37. graham heights, medium density, tunnel leading to pollan (Velhar-Graham Hwy) any comments welcomed
