This program is available in the mod section

 

This small program allows you to easily change some properties of any lots/BAT buildings. It doesn't require to be installed,it is not a plugin, so just copy the two files of the zip in any folder and run it.
Three languages are available : english, german and french (use the flag to change language)

 

Dont hesitate to give some feedback about what you want to be added or modified.

 

Warning
Don't forget to save the lots you want to modify before using it.
Don't put this program in the same folder as the Reader or the Building Tweaker.

 

How to use it ?

Click on the open button, choose a lot file. The lot will appear in the list. If you click on a entry of the list, its content will be displayed in the bottom part.

 

 

On the right part, you have access to many functions which allow to transform your lot in a civic buildings, a recycling center building, a power plant , a water pump...

For exemple, here is the school dialog:

 

 

As you can see, query window can be added. You can also manipulate advanced data using graph (i.e : School Effectiveness vs Average Age, Age to maintenance cost multiplier ...). For each graph, predefined models can be selected.

 

 

Bugdet can also be managed ...

 

... as well as occupant group

 

 

or sound ( each of them can be previewed)

 

 

 

Don't forget to press the Save button before exiting the program.

Way to go ... this one has acome a far way since we started off with just getting the Name, Description and a few basic figures sorted out ...

This is this is the ideal tool for a Rookie Lotbuilder ... it allows just the right number of changes to take your lot from just another lot to something useable ...

Just one suggestion: a quick help-file (wouldn't have to be much) would be extremely useful in getting people started with this proggy.

This is great. Now even more people can make lots that function like they would want them to.

As for help files, well I would recommend anyone who wants help, to just save this entire web page. They can then view it at their leisure. The photos included by ilive above are practically a tutorial unto themselves.

I am sure I am making something wrong so I will tell step by stepwhat I am doing so you tell me what I am doing wrong ok? (ne te faches pas  )

I want to create a landmark with jobs that shows me a query.

 

1 I create a lot in lot editor(the one from maxis), save it and close the lot editor.

 

2. I make a backup for that file and put it in another directory to be sure to not loose it.

 

 

3 I open the LEprop1.6 and click on open dat, I look for my file (not the backup) and click open.

 

3 In this first screen I change the name , the description I change the pollution values etc.. ok till now is easy even for me

 

4.  Now lets change the sound of the lot: I click the right bottom button

this screen shows up:

I click on the speaker on the right bottom and this other screen shows up:

The bureau of bureaucracy is the sounfd I want so I choose it and click ok thereafter.

It takes me back to previous screen, this time I click on the dropdown and choose landmark option hereand click on the check box then on the advanced button:

Another screen will show up:

Here start my problems, I am not sure about what to do, I click on the plus sign beside the RCI occupant types and choose CS$$$ and click on the arrow to move it to the right panel. then the same procedure to CS$$.

Then I click ok and ok again.

It takes me back to first screen.

I then go to effect and desirability panel this screen shows up and I fill it with the data below:

 

I then click ok. If I click back oin this effect and desirability the checkbox for landmark is unchecked... bizarre ... so I choose Parks query window ...

Ok for the park it remains checked so lets maintain the parks query I just want a query anyway.

 

I then click on apply button and save dat, I close the LEPROP open the game and , the sound is ok but there is no query when  I click on it with the ? cursor...

 

Anyone can help me?

I fixed the bug with the Landmark query window. A version (LEProp 1.61) is available in the mod download section (I hope it will solve your problem)

 

Suico, you can't add job using the LEprop (perhaps in a next version)

Do you need all the props and building files or just the file of the lot and the desc willbe fine?

A LANDMARK with JOBS is actually a contradiction in terms in the Maxis SC4 world ... what you did with the LE Prop is to change it from a Landmark to a Plopable Commercial so it is correct that it would disappear from the Landmark check in LE Prop ...

 

When you want to make Commercial Plops is is better to start with one of the BLANKS that Ralphael has released and build the lot on that and then Tweak it with the LE Prop ...

 

Many of these properties do interact fairly complexed and a handy tool like LE Prop is not really designed for that ... doing the basics is what it does best and when you want to get more advanced you have to use the Reader ...

 

I would hate it to see that LE Prop morph into a complex DO IT ALL Tool and then gets riddeled with bugs that makes the tool loose most of it's value.

 

I am a big fan of the modular way iLive does his stuff ... little apps that does specifics ... it makes it easier to maintain plus it is easier to update and to use ...

 

In no way must this post be seen as negative ... it is just my opinon and  I am a heavy user of all the iLive Apps ... the latest expansion of LE Prop is fabulous but it is now getting to a place where the choices do affect one another on other levels and to try and trap for all the possible conflicts is not easy.

Ilive, I love your stuff!  just started the latest version of LEProp, and JUST found the new UIEditor.  I just started this (custom queries) yesterday, did you read my mind ?!?

 

Also, Quite a while ago, I saw an older thread where you described a lot editor of your own you were working on; it appears to have died due to complications.  One feature I really liked was the ability to view the props, to see what they look like.  Would it be possible to release that as a stand alone program?  There are so many props available, especially if you have downloaded a bunch of lots, I lose track of what is what. And I still find stuff that I didn't know existed...

 

If this is possible, easy to do, and not an inconvenience, there are two extra features that would be great to add:

1) Is this a standard prop, or a custom one

2) Could you show effects as effect, and not the little green diamond?

 

This app would be very helpful for designing lots, used as a planning tool.  I don't know if you could run it side by side with the Maxis lot editor, as they might be trying to access the same files (I'm not a programmer), but it could be used ahead of time to get a list of props to use.

I stopped all work on Lot editor as Maxis released their editor and also due to lack of time.

But your idea is interesting (except perhaps for effects as I don't even know if someone find the file format).The only problem will be the time so I can't promise you something ... for the moment

I have a suggestion and it is something that could be very usefull ...

Give us a small App that we need to start BEFORE we open the LE ... this App reads the Props into memory and then releases all the files so that the LE do not $%&^! about it ...

Now your App allows us to search and View Props and gives the I number that we can copy and paste into the LE to find the Prop ...

Then when you want to get really fancy for us ever demanding users ... your app could allow us to build groups up of props that we use regularly so that we do not even browse all the props that is there if we select one of our Personal Groups ...

I am having a strange problem ever since I downloaded this program: Every time I use it, all of the file names of a folder I have open in thumbnail mode disappear, and rebooting doesn't even bring them back; I have to restore. Am I the only one who has had this problem?
