I suppose a guitar being smashed on your head would hurt... not that I know this personally... :uhm:

I'd sure hope not :P

I'm trying to get myself into a better sleeping pattern.

Tartan, I think. :P

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I find the guitar to be the most overrated instrument of all time, especially the electric, good as a torture weapon to make people deaf though.

Piano triumphs all, FACT.

Like Jim Jones said, Rappers are rockstars without the guitar.

Well, if you don't like it, then you don't like it. Personally I think you're bonkers. :P

I've never seen "bonkers" used as a positive. I always thought it just meant crazy or weird.

It might be old and/or local usage, but I've heard what's now commonly known as a "fist bump" referred to as "bonkers". And the word could be used spoken as well, e.g. "You passed that test? Alright, bonkers!"

For the record, my usage of bonkers referred to crazy but of course, I was only joking.

The only alternate term for a fist bump I am aware of is "daps." While we are are moderately on the subject of fist bumps... is anyone else bothered by those people who feel the need to punch the crap out of your fist in such an instance? What's that all about?

Don't forget the Floors. They had some great hits, and their album Carpet Stain was a best-seller.

With this many bands, we're going to end up with a Crowded House.

I'm not really following the joke, what does it mean "rubber band"?

Rubber bounces. Saying that a musical group called "The Bounce" is a "rubber band" is punny because they're a band with bounce in their name, but "rubber band" also means something else more commonly.

For a joke more up your alley, perhaps we could say the frontman is a rubber band man, nine in his right 45 in his other hand.

Now I can get with that, Classic T.I throwback from his pre Paper Trail days.

Yeah, that song was from the sunset days of rap. Couple years later there just really wasn't any of it worth listening to anymore.

...of course, I say that about pretty much all popular music. I stopped closely following what was "current" after I graduate high school (2005) an became generally less enamored with it.

Apparently LL is touring with Ice Cube, Public Enemy and De La Soul later this year. That might be worth checking out. Notice these acts are all "old." None of that new rubbish!

Sunset days of rap? We are far from that, just cause you hear pop like tracks on the radio and the billboard doesn't know real music does not mean its any less then it was in the 90s.

For example from recent albums for 2013.

Saheed

Demigodz

MC Eiht making a comeback JEAH!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vanz0iJgLDM

And 2012, had some great releases from San Quinn, Spice 1, Afta sum, V-White, Thurz, Tha Jacka, K-Rino returned as did C-Bo, Copywrite, Killer Mike, Juvinile dropped a really good one, 8-ball & MJG were back at it, Masta ace, Snowgoons dropped a triple guest star album, DMX returned from Jail, Blaq Poet had another excellent album, RZA and Vinnie P, Black C the last living member of R.B.I Possie out of Hunters Point continued their legacy, Skillz retired dropping his last album, Daz Dillenger, French Montana and Lee Majors dropped a series of impressive albums.

Spice 1 teaming up with Hu$y this is the sound of classicness of the old days.

And can't forget Classy

As you can see, Its far from dead, just gotta do some digging.

I could go on forever, but that would be the rest of the 10,000 posts.

I'm with you on the "Billboard doesn't know good music" part.

However, I stand by my statement that rap had its time and that time is no more. As far as I am concerned, rap was a part of 90s culture and survived as a good part of culture up until 2005-ish. But you just can't make a good rap song anymore no matter how good you write or perform it since the style itself is now passé.

Same sort of thing with boy bands. Hollywood is attempting to reboot the idea but it just doesn't work because this is 2013, not 1999. One Direction will never come close to being the Backstreet Boys. They are lame copycats of a tired format, not pioneers as the boy bands of the late 90s were.

The music world, I think, is desperately starving for something fresh and new... but all Hollywood knows how to do anymore is rehash, so it isn't happening.
