Is there going to be a simcity 5?

I was wondering if anyone know if there was going to be a simcity 5 coming out? If yes, When? Sorry if this is in the wrong bit of the forum, I didn't know where it would go.

If I were you, I'd bury all hope for a SimCity 5.

EA has made a half-*ssed attempt with a game that should never have been called "SimCity", came here to ST and other community sites and pretended to be listening to what people want, only to disclose a few weeks later that the game was basically finished and that they would ignore all feedback - although they "appreciated it". Guess they have a different definition.

Next attempt was Cities XL, the publisher went bankrupt, the game could not win the heart of the SimCity crowd.

A software company would be totally bonkers to touch this subject. Nobody will go for a niche market, and as soon as they aim for a wider audience, it's no longer a SimCity game and will fail with its core audience.

Add the general trend to game consoles, casual games etc. to this, and there you have the probability of a SimCity 5 emerging at some time during the next ten years: Nothing, zero, zilch, nada, rien, niente, null. Just forget it.

YThink about it. Sim City 4 is over 8 years old and it still hasn't been exploited fully... just look at the NWM, RHW projects released recently (btw, thanks NAM team!)

Fansites keep the game interesting.
