What do you mean by download? And I have SC4D with RH and it worked fine for me.

Sim City 4 Deluxe includes both Sim City 4 and Rush Hour - You should be able to download and use Startup Manager with absolutely no problem.

Is there a certain way I need to use it? I downloaded it and it was installed, but when I click on it it says: "SimCity4 not installed. SimCity4 StartupManager can not run without an installation of SimCity4" I got SimCity 4 Deluxe from Amazon so it should be working. But it's not so I don't know.

    Heya

Looks like you are in a real predicament yes? To be honest it isn't easy to make remote diagnostics for a situation like this, but I'll try.

First of all, I am wondering if the game even launches. If SUM thinks that SC4 isn't installed, try reinstalling SUM. At a last resort reinstall the game. Usually reinstalling the game helps greatly. Also, do you have the patches for the game?

Might be useful if you said what operating system you are using. I am currently on XP SP3 and SUM works fine (I don't use it anymore, but I used to use it all the time and it hasn't changed any). Perhaps there are special circumstances for installing it under others such as Vista or Win 7. So you are saying that if you don't use SUM that you can run SC4 and all works fine, but that you'd like to use SUM to control what custom content goes with each City TIle... this can certainly be done by setting up profiles for each city. There is a support thread for SUM. Have you looked over that to see if it can help you any?

I suggest you post in the thread mentioned above.. that is the support thread. I tried starting the program again and it works fine. Have you read SUM documentation and installed it properly as it says? Are you starting SUM BEFORE SC4? (You have to do this.. not AFTER SC4).. Do you have SC4 installed in a non-standard spot? I have mine in an odd place and SUM looks in the old My Docs spot. Sorry, but I expect only Andreas or JPL2 will be able to find your problem.. that message "SimCity4 not installed. SimCity4 StartupManager can not run without an installation of SimCity4"  is not listed in the "troubleshooting" part of the program.

Sirron Kcuhc, you might try to find where your SimCity 4.exe file is located. I believe that SUM checks the C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps folder. If the exe file is somewhere else, SUM may not find it, and is giving you that error.

This link above seems to go into the bit bucket. I realize that this probably has to do with the current upgrades. Does someone have a working link to the SUM support thread? TIA.
