I got a song made just for you guys, don't know if you guys are gonna add music, and if you are, I don't know if this song would work or not.

https://soundcloud.com/sektrex/synekism-soundtrack-song

sound quality isn't the best on soundcloud, but still I have the original file which is much better quality, so if you want it, maybe I can send you the file.

sounds better on Youtube, so here:

Thanks for the tune. I like it. I tried playing the game while listening to it and your song seemed appropriate enough.

Music that ships with Synekism is not very high on my priority list but I might add a page that lists some "recommended" music for the game in the interim. We'll see.

Made a new city, not super impressive, but it's something I guess, especially with the game crashing a few times.

I think most of the time was spent of rezoning  zones since it took a lot of time to dezone.

That looks like an impressive city.

Regarding the crashing, can you send the city save file along with any information on what you were doing when it crashed to support@synekism.com so I can attempt a fix? I'm assuming that's the latest version?

It's not the latest, I just didn't see enough stuff fixed to really upgrade the version, but I can upgrade and see if it still does it.

I'm sure you're aware of this, but sometimes when zoning, there will sometimes be a zone that takes the whole city block and not develop because of how large it is.

Norton detecting ws.reputation.1 in the setup. Possibly a false alarm. What to do?

That's awesome. I have no idea why this would happen. Can you try one or two older versions of Synekism?

Also, you can use 7zip to extract SynekismSetup.x.x.x.exe to a folder. One of the generated folders will contain Synekism.exe. Can you run Norton on Synekism.exe? Does it also get flagged?

I don't have Norton but I'll try to research this a bit and see if there's something I can change on my end. I can give you the source for the installer if you'd like.

I haven't played skynekism yet, but this game looks awesome and it started to attract my attention, cuz it's looks a funny city simulator and can be a very challenging game (thing that's very hard to find nowadays) :D

Well, the December '13 update is exactly what i expected to be: None at all. No offense but despite a great promising start years ago i think this project will end just like all other attempts. There is little or no improvement made since i played the 'game' a long time ago. Yea, some artwork and the algorithm of lots and buildings was updated, but nothing really special you will notice right away. Sorry to say but i am giving up hope on this title.

Or let me formulate this better; With the current phase i think the game will be finished (if ever) somewhere near the year 2095.

Currently, the planned completion of the game is Q4 of 2102, so you were pretty close. :)

But your observation of and reaction to the lack of progress in the past 3 years is both accurate and fair. I hope I never gave anyone false hope for massive progress. Synekism has always been a hobby first and product second. However, despite the slow crawl forward, I don't see an actual end in sight.

Let me know if I can help somehow in this project.

I have a similar project but using Unity3D for making a city, It would be awesome to include the programming used from Synekism at Unity and do marvels as it was in CityScape shown at page 8. Check out my latest low poly homes, I also plan in doing alot more props as like highrises, stores, light poles, etc in low poly, with normals projections and bumps for realism. Also in what language are you working on?

Thanks for the offer. I'll keep it in mind.

I actually use Unity3D a lot at my day job. It's nice but it's a bit too late to make Synekism run on Unity. That ship has sailed. Synekism has always been pure C++.

Almost a year since your last post and just to let you know, I'll still be waiting for the next big update so that I can give some more feedback, but in the mean time I'll be waiting here and even though it's been a very long time since the first release, I do still have very good hopes in this game.

In my humble opinion, the most important thing you could add into this game, or any city building game for that matter, is full mod support. Not even the biggest of development companies will get around to building all the features us Mayors have grown to love in SC4, it just won't happen as there are too many. However, as long as you open the game to modding it can be what we all want.
