Download full region with complete cities?

Simple enough, I want to download regions with cities already built, preferably well made ones. just to have a play around with; get ideas and tips etc.

I've had a look around the downloads here but most are just blank regions, albeit amazing but blank all the same.

anywhere I can download maps like this?

Upon searching, I discovered maxisland, which is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. unfortunately it didn't work at all. are there any more like this? in the meantime I will attempt to get it working :\

Not from the STEX - built-on regions have a too-large filesize for it, and the creator may have many plugins you don't. I doubt anywhere hosts them now.

There is one region i know of which has complete cities, & uses NO custom content. You can find the region here.

Albeit you will need the rush hour expansion pack, or simcity 4 deluxe.

EDIT: unfortunately there are no more regions similiar to maxisland. (At least not to my knowledge.)

Unfortunately, it is not as east as it sounds. If you could download a custom made region, you would need every dependency for every lot in it. Sometimes it can be hard finding dependencies for one lot, never mind thousands! To get city building ideas, I recommend visiting the city journals here at Simtropolis. There are some great cities and there are plenty of ideas!

yep. against the stex rules for above mentioned reasons.

e.g., I can give you my current city. a nice big region well developed. 370mb the city folder alone.

now, thing is, I use a hell of a lot of custom content. an approximate guess is, incl. all dependencies, about 4.5gb

makes a download worth almost 5gb, be it as one file or the plain city files with a list of dependencies to run it correctly (which in this case would be at around 550-600 items to download, not including my own contributions that are not published)

not too nice an option for "just to play around a little", is it?

so if you need inspiration, I strongly recommend to dig into the city journal threads which offers plenty inspirations and the occasional breathtaking work. PLUS the benefit that you can ask for a certain building, add on, modd used and surely get an answer so you can limit your own downloads to what you need and not having all the stuff a respective creator deemed necessary

As said above, you won't find them on the STEX, but you can on this site: http://descargas.capitalsim.net/?sitio=csc. The first file appearing is a pre-made city. If you want more, just click on the "Ciudades" button near the website banner and some more will appear. They should have no plug-ins.
