Yes, please don't forget to make a few backups.

BTW, you don't have to start a new CJ every 5 updates, or when it falls onto the second page.

joshriddle: I'm not starting a new CJ because I want to. It's because the old region was gone so it's not worth keeping the old CJ.

I am not on the computer that has SimCity 4 so I won't make another entry for Shayden until I get on that computer.

According to deathtopumpkins, Shayden is now a AFDES Observer State. Shayden personally thanks the AFDES for accepting us. And I will in my power help AFDES however I can. Again I thank AFDES. So here's Shayden's new flag! 9.gif

It's now 1975, and 70,000 people now live in Spartanburgh. We've done alot. We have skyscrapers and everything. We also have a Minor League Soccor Team, heck we even got a Minor League Football Stadium. We've got more hospitals, police stations, water pollution is gone. We were even able to get rid of our Gas Plant and got more Wind Mills. Pollution in the industrial district is still bad, but it's been worse.

Our Wind Mills that provide the whole city electricity

    spartanburghjan12061280c.png

Our Orange Trees, so our Citizens can enjoy some good old fashion fruit!

    spartanburghjan12061280c.png

Some of our skyscrapers, we have a problem with employment because people are moving in too fast to provide jobs for.

    spartanburghjan12061280b.png

That's one of the first neighborhoods in Spartanburg, not

    too much has changed.

A blurry view of the skyscrapers!

That's all for now, reply on how you think of Spartanburgh's advancments.

    Happy 100,000 Shayden!!

Surprise, we now currently has 107,000 people living in Shayden! To celebrate let's go to our two cities that made it possible. First it's Travison City, currently populated 5,500!

    travisoncityapr70112802.pngtravisoncityapr70112802n.pngtravisoncityapr70112802u.png

Next  here's Spartanburgh, currently populated at 101,500. I should've added a happy 100,000 for Spartanburgh too...

    spartanburghmar13071280.pngspartanburghmar13071280i.png

    spartanburghmar13071280x.png

I decided this time to let the buildings do the talking. So happy 100,000 for Shayden. In six years Shayden has gone up around 99,000 (107,500-8,500= 99,000) Put in a comment about what you think of Shayden.

Oh and remember the theater? It became historical and they've made a sequel to "Aliens in our Hyde", it's called "Idiots in our Hyde"... The sequel is pretty violent though. It's still filled with pollution...

Oh, in that picture down in the bottom left, where did you find that stadium? Anyway, looking good! Keep it up. Also, be sure to keep all that industry at a controllable growth rate otherwise it may force residents out. That is if residents are to close to it...

EDIT: you posted that new picture while I was talking.

Shayden has just recieved presents from America.  Even know it's 1980 (the Cold War is over) they decided to be generous and give us some advances in technology. To welcome us as a country. They  gave us a Stock Market, a Space Station, and an Advance Research Center. That was real generous of them.  Here are some picures of the new buildings:

    spartanburghfeb12101280.pngspartanburghfeb12101280e.png

    spartanburghfeb12101280.pngspartanburghfeb12101280i.png

The bottom right picture is a view of all the buildings. We hope to do alot with all of these. So thanks America!

    Here's a region view:

    regionviewofshayden.jpg

    Population of cities:

    1. Spartanburgh            126,371

    2. Charleston                   21,129

    3. Capitol City                   10,111

    4. Travison City                   5,505

    Post about America's generousity. Cheers!

Put in more pictures. Also choose better places to take your pictures. Maybe add some special effects to them as well.

Shayden is now populated at 264,208. And it has 2 meduim sized cities and 4 small cities. Do you think that's much? Here are some pictures probably reused. I haven't made any new picures yet.

One way to make a journal popular is to let people know whether or not it is "vanilla." I haven't seen much custom content so far, and that usually helps unless you are trying for vanilla.

Like CrushedCar said, custom content, which is plugins. Vanilla CJs like yours are still neat, however the towns look more attractive and neat looking.

Anyway, can't wait to find out about this "enemy"

    Happy 300,000 Shayden!

Shayden is now at 300,000! In 15 days Shayden's population has risen back up to the way it was before the computer crash. I got the game info on the other drive so I'm safe for now. Here's a region picture:

    300000shayden.jpg

Now here are some pictures of our Military Bases in Shayden!

    newchanloraug1703128085.png

Sorry about the unrealistic airplane mission icons, I couldn't find a time they weren't there,

but this is Fort Randell's Airbase.

    newchanloraug1903128085.png

Here's Fort Randell, the military are here to protect us from

    possible invaders.

    newchanloraug2303128085.png

Here's Fort Randell's Water Navy! Incase of a breach

    overseas.

Now here are some city pictures!

    newchanloraug2503128085.png

Our seaport, yes there is a problem with it so far, I can't seem

to fix it though, so sorry.

    newchanloraug2803128085.png

Our Disease Research Facility, incase of a breakout! I have

a feeling we'll need it soon...

    newchanlormay1305128086.png

A small skyscraper, not sure if

    it's a plugin or not.

    newchanlormay1705128086.png

    Some of our residential

    skyscarpers.

    newchanlormay2005128086.png

    An apartment, looks cozy!

That's all for now! So what do you think?

I think that building in the "small skyscraper" picture is a Maxis building.

    Some hints:

You can turn the icons off in the u drive it menu.

Also, convert the images to .jpg in something, (NOT MS paint), irfanview would probably be the easiest way, once you have installed it, simply open the images in the problem, then save as .jpg. (Choose a save quality of 85-90 in the dialog box that pops up to have smaller image file sizes, which make them quicker to load. 100 makes it nearly as big as it was before in filesize)

Using bigger images (up to 800x600) might help popularity as well.

As was said before, more custom content.

I wasn't quite sure if it was or not so I just added it. I used "small skyscraper" because it wasn't that tall.

Oh you can? I'll try that thanks!

I do put them in jpg and I didn't edit the size in this post, I took far away pictures because I didn't want the info of the city to be seen.

Yeah I'm having some trouble on that. I put the and plopables in the folder with the applications, should I put the building designs into the My Documents folder?

You put your plugins and custom content at this path

C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins. You stick the plugin in there, complete with it's folder.

I also like the fact that you are using some custom content. I recommend the NAM and Columbus textures to make some things better. I also recommend you download some PEG plugins. They are by far the best ones. Also I recommend some of Simgoober's stuff in the way of real-life content.

In the most recent update, the region view is a .jpg, but all the other pictures are .png.

Also, if you find custom content that comes with an installer, it will place it in the correct position by itself when you run it.
