quite nice update, I like your care with details, like those road signs placed properly and even the trees looks like placed execly on the right place.

PS. Do you use any mod to the terrain colour? I'd ask you this before, but I always forget it.

    NEWS!

Here is what I recived yesterday:

Hey Mr. Beer, I am a student at Duke University, and my scholarship program (http://www.duke.edu/web/usp/) is hosting an annual symposium this year, with the title Cities. I organized a group of students who want to do a side-by-side comparison on 3 projectors (we have a room with 4 projectors next to each other) of a simulated city, a Google map of the real thing, and some tables comparing things like Population, Budget, etc. We were all really impressed by your City of Baton Rouge, and we would like the opportunity to use it in our comparison. Would you or someone else on the forum that you know be interested in being part of this symposium? Since we want this to be an interactive installation, we would need to have the actual game running on one of the projectors with the city. We would of course be taking pictures of the event, which we can post in the CJ and we would attribute your work during the symposium. The symposium is next Saturday, in a little over a week, so we appreciate your response. Look forward to hearing from you! Best wishes, Ilya -- Ilya A. Someone are interested?
I would like to help him/her, but my city run with a lot of plug-ins, Rush Hour expension, etc. I've proposed to takes some pictures because, if I send the copy by mail from Switzerland to North Carolina, how long does it takes?

    RESPONSE

Your city and region is not the biggest or highest I've seen on Simtro but certainly one of the most realistic!!!
And for me (I'm European: french)if your city is called with a french name: Baton Rouge (=red stick) it really incarnate the american model: orthogonal streets and large suburbs.

That last image is so realistic. I love it. It reminds me of a freeway near where I live [though, it's only four lanes wide, not eight]

Well, I've gone back through what I've missed in here...

The SunOil complex is huge.  And beautiful.  *nods*

I'm really looking forward to Omaha if it all looks like that preview you showed.  After checking it out on Google Earth, it looks like a cool little city.

Speaking of Google Earth, I think you might find this interesting, Mr. Beer:

My desktop at the moment is your ortho satelite pic.  Anyway, I show a screen of it over at NE in the 'show your desktop' thread, and someone thought it was a Google Earth pic.  Here's the link:  LINK.  Job well done, methinks.

To ACEfanatic: I hope to start the Omaha's CJ soon, but yet I test some stuffs and the result is great. I'm waiting to have some realistic suburban homes with front-garage. Btw, thanks a lot!
