What frustrates you about sim city 4

Anyhow, I'm thiking of releasing a new CJ, but still need more help developing the town. Anyone know where I can get diagonal and normal W2W ploppable and functional as either a a CS, CO or Residential with European style?

I don't know of any, but have heard there are some on the STEX. Why not ask this question in the "I can't find it" thread in the STEX forum?

Sometimes when you demolish a building, that buildings keeps on standing, even though you demolished it (money came out of the treasury) or dezone it, it won't stay destroyed. Any idea how to get rid of this building?

It is a known problem, and I had it at least once. I don't exactly remember what to do about it, but I seem to remember you have to put the same building all around the reluctant one then demolish the whole set at once. This is going to raise hell with the surroundings.

It's called the Immortal Lot syndrome... fortunately Ripple Jet has a fix called RJ - Immortality Killer. It is over at the BSC Lot Exchange - you'll have to register (it's free) to see the download button..

I Hate downloading one building at a time!!! It makes this game very time consuming to add any amount of custom content.

I Hate having either wealthy or poor cities with no in between. High wealth takeover kills this game!!!

I hate reading the same messages over and over. Get rid of the pop-ups and add some variety to the game!!!

"Get rid of pop-ups..." HOW about I ask you first? Have you SEEN the gear button? There is an option there that turns off those POP-UPS. High wealth takeover? That is a problem that when the R-$$ Desirability and RCI is high. (I like this problem.)

"Variety..." That is not the answer. The key is; SimCity 5. It may include Network Addon Mod (NAM) and other NAM Team files, Pop-ups maybe showing less than many; Commute time problems over; No more problems.

Cars will no longer fade in and out, just goes to the parking lot.

That would be a dream come true if SC5 did come out with all that, when it does come out It will probably similar to CXL and SS with the Rotatory camera and stuff but none of the Other Boring Bits, Same type of Zoning, Perhaps Real Life cars!

Dream on. SC5 will never come about in a state that any of us would probably play it. Will Wright said they had cornered themselves with SC4, and anything later will (has been) not as good.

If you play on hard mode, you can suppress all the popup dialogs, but you should then pay attention to the news ticker, which is the only place you will see urgent messages. If you have money troubles only playing with 100,000 Smn, the use the moolah command to give you the initial treasury you think you need.

Multi-building downloads would be too large, even if each one was reduced to a .dat file. The STEX allows up to five simultaneous downloads. Of course you need good bandwidth for this.

I don't know what your playing style is, but I don't get extreme cities. The trick, I think, is to not go overboard zoning commercial nor industrial. Just put in enough to keep your Sims employed, don't rush to build higher education, and run on first or second gear.

Extreme cities are good because once you have it up and running it gains huge amounts of money but if you don't set it up right you will be out of money before you are finished. Taking it slow is probably better on hard mode since you need the money but if you are on easy mode you have enough money to risk it.

I needed the energy drink when I had it but when you get home after it you suddenly have a problem of having a too much energy also the crash has came and now I sort of regret going for the Monster one instead of the red bull.

Its a warning, usually. Sometimes its real, and should be looked at, but mostly you can ignore it. The program posts that when the lot is being considered for development and it hasn't been seen by the pathfinder.

Oh, so many things, so little time...

I've just gotten back into SC4 after a long hiatus, and have finally gotten into pluggins and mods, which have mostly solved all of my original complaints with the game, especially road and highway networking limitations; with a lack of various kinds of ramps and connectors. NAM has mostly fixed those, even though it is difficult to negotiate through the network of puzzlepieces and options sometimes.

That brings up another problem well known to everyone, the restrictions on new menus. EA, come on, you deliberatly make this game end-user expandible, setting up the game engine to incorperate new lots, models and other elements, but then do nothing to help the GUI handle all those new things!

Another MAJOR issue I have is the huge step BACKWARD the game has made from where it used to be with SC2000. Remember the hydroelectric dams? Remember ploping water on hills and at different levels? Why the heck didn't you continue that function in the original game? What about the scenarios? Remember those, they give you a city with some serious problems, and you get to figure out how to restructure and rebuild after things like, oh, mass riots, hurricanes, development stupidity...? And about Riots, remember how they were an actual mob running down the streets, throwing bottles and setting fire to everything around them, and you get to chase them down and stomp them with your police and military? You gave me a TANK, I could DRIVE.... and nobody to shoot at!!! How can I tell what parts of the city need to be destroyed and redone if the people won't come out on the streets and light them on fire? How am I supposed to rid my region of disidents if they don't come out and fight?!

That stupid Steam Train engine... I can't stand it! It does NOT fit with the cars, ships, and other traincars of the game. If anyone can give me a file that represses or replaces it with something decent, say a New York Central Hudson, I'd be very grateful.

There's a bunch of other things as well, but I'll get to those later, when I've got more time....

If you make a lot of highways, download the RHW as well. You might also be interested in the NWM.

This game would have been a lot better if it wasn't rushed.

A minor one is the complaint of MySims that the school is not close enough. I never listen to that. One woman complained the resort blocked her view of the ocean. I tried to burn her house down and could not. It caught fire but went out. I would have used more widespread disaster but did not want to lose my glorious city. Sure, I could have just moved her or bulldozed her house, but the wrath of God is so much better! I sent quite a few lightning bolts her way. Another complaint. Trying to dispose her bad view in my wrath, I tried to bomb her with the jet from Area 5.1 but could but could not get any good aim, and when the helicopter guns were not good (because I could not get a good aim) I said to heck with it. She can complain about the resort all she wantss. It's staying. I do like the vehicles though. I just wish you could see the inside view like in the Super Ninendo Sim City 2K. That was cool.

Dezone the area, then Zone something underneath it. Then demolish the lot.

Try saving by pressing Ctrl + S. It seems to reduce crashes for some reason.

Assuming you have downloaded the EP1 update, you now need the nightlighting update. After installing that, all custom buildings will have nightlights.

What is frustrating about the Maxis highways that is not more problematic in the RHW? The RHW forces all kinds of civil engineering, and has many more operations to create the desired path.

What? I'm running the Deluxe Edition of SC4 on a six-year-old IBM/Lenovo desktop and it has almost no issues running the game at all. Except for that one CTD when I plopped a two-lane Toll Booth at the edge of a map...
