goddam! those are alllllllllllll awesome passenger trains...but i have a question..can we use all of them at once? or is it just 1 file at a time? it'll be cool to see different trains running on the train tracks instead of seeing all amtrak trains ..know what i mean, like seeing a couple of amtrak and a couple of GO and a couple of NJT..would that even be possible? cause be default the passenger trains is all blue and thats the only type of PT you see..

 --edit--
WHOA!! wait a minute i just thought of something, hey BigRed if you can do these awesome trains skins with the passenger train would it be possible for you to do them with the monorail train skin??!?!!?!?

As of right now, there isn't a way to have different passenger road names at the same time without each train being a random mix. If you have Amtrak, GO and NJT then each train will be a mix of those three.

I'm scrapping my Amtrak set. If I ever get around to playing. I'm going with these great trains from BigRedFish.
[/quoteMESSAGE][/bEGINQUOTE]

Please don't remove your Amtrak Loco's. The Phase 3 Engine you have matches perfectly with BigRedFish's Amfleet cars!

Trolca, I've been meaning to get around to asking this anyway, but can I throw your Amtrak Phase III F40PH and that white whatever-it-is into my upcoming Amtrak Super-Set, so people don't have to search through two large downloads to get everything?  You'll get full credit for them of course.

Please do. If you feel it needs a little touch up, that's all right as well.

oh ok, so if i use all 3...then in the game i will see a mix of all 3, EACH INDIVIDUAL TRAIN CART will mix right..say a train has 6 carts, then those 6 carts will be random, one AMT, one NJT one GO etc..etc..i see now!

but as for the monorail, would it be possible? i dont see why not? unless it uses some kind of other coding or something...we have sooo many different passenger trains now, it would be cool to see some different monorail rather then that red one in the game..

    --edit--

nevermind i just went onover to SCC and BAMM! found a new monorail by oppie!!, is it ever cool! and theres a bunch of new UDI vehicles! etc.. http://www.simcitycentral.net/files/index.php?category=all

Hey BigRedFish, any progress on new sets?
    quote>

*kicks dirt*  Um, er, no.  Any idea what I should do next though?  I'm thinking either finish the Amtrak California set and the Metroliners and then release a Amtrak Super-Set for the Mods section, or else try to get the Metro North cars made and take off in an elevated-rail direction.  What do you think, K-man?

I'd like to see the metroliner. That looks to be a great set if you can work out the night lighting.

There was a bug in one of the files in my Amfleet cars, that caused the models to jump around and made the game run badly.  Fixed file attached, just let it overwrite the old one.

A big Thank You (and a bunny) to TrainManR5 for helping track this one down.  Thanks, TMr5!  Here's your bunny.  35.gif

I have improved the Amtrak California set and added Pacific Surfliner trains.

The files are now available on the STEX, here:

Future train sets will be releases as Prop Mods on the STEX, at Dirk's request.  This will make them smaller, faster to download, and easier to update.

These will be very funny indeed in one of my cities, i counted a train length of 30 cars lol. Will be cool with these trains. Will there be any risk of crashing or slowdown with these?

Dirk requested you requested you to place them on STEX? I would assume that he'd want me to place mine there as well but I haven't heard anything.

Trolca: I wrote to Dirk yesterday asking for write access to the mods section so I could upload my own set updates.  He told me that they're working on moving the mods over to the STEX, and that I should just upload them there as prop mods, because that's what they are.  Makes sense to me.

By breaking the sets into individual road-name packages it'll make it easier to track down bugs, I think.  Also we won't have to force people to download multi-meg files to get a few fixes.  Seems like a good idea.

Morhavoc: Unless you install a hundred or more of these add-ons, you'll likely not see any performance problems.  Crashing is virtually impossible unless I make a terrible mistake.  Oh, and the Long Trains mod I made limits passenger trains to 12 cars, I think.

Incredible work as always. Putting them on the STEX allows easier updated, plus TRACKING! That's a real plus right there. Now if only dirk could figure out a way to allowing sorting by Last Updated. 2.gif2.gif2.gif

I have just posted Washington, DC Metro trains on the STEX:

This is a matched set of elevated, subway, and surface rail cars, so you can see Metro running everywhere it should.  The set also contains replacement locomotives that look just like regular Metro cars, to complete the effect.  Since it's impossible to have el trains run on surface rail, this is the next best thing.  If you can't make it, fake it.

I left the files as individual pieces instead of a single super-file, so you can replace only those transit types you want to.  These are original replacement files, and can be used with the extra cars from my other sets if you want to do that.  It would look very odd I think, but it's player's choice.

Railways in SC4 have always been dissapointing and unrealistic.
They need electricity! I know u can get this as a thing from SCC, but we need Vrigin Pendolinos and voyagers, TGVs, Eurostars, Bullets, GNERs, and at the top- normal sized city stations! 15 platforms at least in a city station and shops...etc. PLEASE....I am so tired of lousy railways

Agreed! I wish the SC4 developers would have put the same effort into rails as they did with roads and highways and that stuff. But it's an American game so that's probably normal. 14.gif

Check out Oppie's work.  He made a lot of the trains you mentioned.  I know he's done TGV and Eurostar, and many others.  Here's a quick-link:
