New NAM Logo --- Submit Yours

The NAM is soon going to have its own dedicated site. http://www.stnam.com

What we need from the Simtropolis community are logo ideas!!! Size does not matter but it must pertain to the NAM and/or the website title.  Post it here in this thread. Once the submissions are finished being accepted we will choose the top 5 that we think will be the best for the site and create a poll and let the Simtropolis community select the final design. So have fun and start creating!!!

Sounds like a pretty good idea. I've been meaning to obtain some sort of avatar or logo that's NAM orientated, kinda like Tolomar's, but I suck at graphics stuff. So it'll be interesting to see what people may come up with.

Well here's my submission!



Basically my inspiration were those New York city subway signs with simple san serif text and a simple representation of the different subway and bus lines that intersect that particular station. But with mine, I put all the different types of transit that is possible in SimCity 4 according to their representative color in the Query route thing. Circles represent road and special transit, diamonds represent traditional rails connected to a national rail grid and squares represent water based transit. So a diamond F are freight trains while a circle F are freight trucks and a square F means a ferry. I also tried my best to replicate that certain typeface that is used in those New York subway station signs. The BMP version is at http://dontbedumb.twu.net/sc4/leonel1982namlogo.bmp in case the JPG version has signs of compression on it.

This is awesome! The style is just right, also it's nice and simple and bold.
Also, if anyone out there has access to Flash, or even a gif anim. package, this would lend itself to animation relatively easily...
Just one thing though, the tagline needs more... pep, i suppose, rather than the name of the modd.
May I suggest something along the lines of going places or a better way

My goal was to create something iconic. Acronyms don't lend themselves to iconification that much, so I chose the first letter and worked in some geometry in Illustrator. The NAM is all about moving SimCity forward, and I figured capturing that movement would be a good idea. This has a multitude of uses other than in a website banner - watermarking, stickers, T-shirts, bumper stickers, buttons, tattoos... Kidding on most of those.

On an aside, I left off taglines, as I figure the website would have its own title and that the size it's used in would render any tagline I would include unreadable.

i suck at graphics in general (that's why wife scrapbooks and i work cranes), but i do have an idea: do NAM in italics, speeding down the freeway/highway. behind the NAM (which could be black with little white stripes, you know, like the in-game one-way textures? anyways, behind the NAM could be dust. bye

Just a quick design - it's a bit rushed, sorry.
The word NAM is on wheels and is speeding away. The clouds behind it are formed from it's speed on the road. I made this following a comment here that posted this idea.



I will probably submit a different logo for the NAM if/when I get enough time to work on one.
