Pittsburgh vs. Green Bay

And I sure hope that Green Bay wins and not the steelers

After all the sick rhetoric being tossed around by Bears & Packers fans all week, here's an amusing comment...

Chicago Bears football practice was delayed nearly two hours today after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. Lovie Smith immediately suspended practice while police and federal investigators were called in.

After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to the players was the goal line. Practice resumed after special agents decided the Bears were unlikely to encounter the substance again.

What found almost impossible to belive was that dispite  the fact that the Packers & Bears have played each other more then any other 2 teams in the NFL, this is only the 2nd time the Packers and Bears

have met in the playoffs. 42.gif

Its funny cause the Packers were my preseason pick in the NFC but after the way the season played out I never thought they'd make it. Sure, they were capable, but they were never the best team or looked incredible to me during the season. But in the NFL, all that you need is a good team that comes to play when it matters, and the Packers have a good enough team that when they caught fire this January, nobody in their way could stop them. And sure, the Seahawks and Bears aren't very good football teams even for the playoffs, but I think the win over Philly plus the way this team has been playing lately is enough to make me think they take the title in two weeks.

O and also, I hate the Jets, I like the Steelers but I don't want them or Ben Rothlisberger to win another title, especially because they didn't have to face the Colts or Patriots to get there [in fact, they've never had to go through the Patriots to win a Super Bowl. Tom Brady has a habit of tearing them apart.]. So because of that, im a cheesehead regardless of whether or not I actually like the Packers. But I do, I like them, Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews, and Packers fans.

If the Steelers win, I'm a cheesehead.

If the Jets win? We are all Cheeseheads.

Don't be to sure about that.  You forget the man who created the 3-4 defense is the defensive coach for the Packers and though Pittsburgh has been playing that defense since the beginning of time, their offensive line has weaknesses that Dom Capers can and will exploit guaranteed.  I've said it once and I'll say it again, never, ever underestimate the Packers.  Philly did it, Atlanta did it and the Bears [ah hell, who really cares about the overrated Bears?] did it and guess what?  They're all going to be sitting at home watching the Superbowl.

Remeber the Steelers lost their starting center early in this game and it realy affected thier running attack.

not sure if he will be ready to play in the SB have not heard an injury update for him.

That Caleb Hanie's  guy from the bears  will be geting some call this week too.

Caleb now thats a biblical name you never hear anymore.

Who did the Steelers lose again?  I just can't remember even though I'm staring at your post.18.gif

Hopefully though, he'll be able to play in a couple of weeks.  Sucks we have to wait two weeks for the SB, maybe if they got rid of the useless Pro Bowl that hardly anyone watches [lowest rated football game all year every year], we could have the SB at the end of January when it's supposed to be played.

I was too tired to look up his name last night it was Maurkice Pouncy.

Doug Legursky, a second-year player from Marshall, replaced Maurkice Pouncey. Legursky had two faulty exchanges with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers were able to run the ball with ease against the Jets in the first half, but they managed only 31 yards on the ground in the second halfquote>

Legursky- now thats a linesmans name there.

Reports this morning indicate that Green Bay are the odds-on favorite.  We'll see if these guys are any good at predictions.  I'd keep my hands in my pockets.

Actually, I interpeted your previous post as not wanting to go out on a limb and make a prediction on who would win the Superbowl.  Now that you have, I think you made the right pick.9.gif

Its a tough game to bet on...i wouldn't be surprised if either team won it. I'd take the packers though simply because i'll be pulling for them and I can't bet against the team I want to win. Its crazy to be at the super bowl already though...and to think, we may not have a season next year! Enjoy it!

I'll be rooting for the Packers as well, partly because I don't like Ben Roethlisberger.

In other news, the Redskins' idiot owner is suing over this article.  The lawsuit seems to be focused on the scribbling on his picture, which is indeed rude.

But, as far as I know everything in the article is true.

And he wonders why people don't like him.   It's a shame he can't be removed for gross incompetence.

Agreed.  I don't know what Jack Kent Cooke had against his sons that he allowed this to happen.

When they were going through the nonsense to sell the team, I was rooting for a group that was composed mostly of former players.   Not that players always made the best owners but a bunch of hall of fame guys with several superbowl rings at least have some clue how a successful team is run.    Snyder seems to think he is playing with toy soldiers in a sandbox.

    Steelers, Cowboys, Redskins.

3 teams that know or once knew how to keep a team on top with long term plans.

only one remains. Do you realize the steelers have had only 3 coaches since 1969?

there something to be said about stable magement. and not haveing egocentric owners.

heck even Mark Cuban finaly learn that lesson.

Ah the steelers are back in, too bad Santonio Holmes isn't there to save them. I'll go with the Aaron Rogers & the Packers walking away with the title.

The half time show was amazing!

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3
