    Thanks, Gn_Leugim. :)

Well i was just giving you all a couple of days to take the images in. But if Gn_Leugim sentiments were enough and sound, then I wish to upload this today. I'm pleased with it.

Sorry If I'm a couple of days late... But I'm releasing it now.

I think with the inspired by version, I can consider it a practice run, so I think I want to try head on the actual building for NYBT. :bunny:

It appears that most of them have disappeared off the list of your files, but they can still be found by searching on the STEX and clicking the links on the NYBT list.

Edit: At least when I view another user's STEX files when I click "See other files by this user" or whatever it's called, it's only showing results going back to April 1, 2011. Not sure how to fix it, though.

Seems to be a glitch with the site, as last week it went back to ~March 23, 2011.

Anyways, the building looks great, this might make its way into one of my cities I'm currently working on. Should fit in nicely. :)

Not going to be an exact recreation, but it comes from something I've made before.

What do ya'll think of the glass and facade textures? I may leave them as is.

    Glass texture: top-notch!

Facade texture: maybe a bit too bland and solid.

Looks like scotty, our "king of the box" gets a colleague, eh? This one looks massive, though - is it such a huge one again?

Thank you TWrecks! However..I wasn't exactly feeling the glass later on, so I changed it to something different but remotely similar. I changed the contrast on the facade texture. Maybe the bland ness will go away eh? :) Oh and please excuse the top area becoming a solid light grey color. It's still textured but gmax did one of those vanishing texture stunts and I didn't realize till the whole render was done. -.-

And about its size. It's smaller compared to the recreation I did for NYBT a while back. This one fits snuggly in a 4x4 lot, with room for little planters and what not. :D

    It's certainly stocky. xD

    juwd1f.png

Started work on the roof. Isn't much but I was wondering. Should I just raise the roof to be at the level of the window washer tracks? Originally I was just going to have them up there supported by beams but I wanted to know what ya'll would rather. I'd have to raise the penthouse, and have a portion sunken in deeper for that huge HVAC. Any thoughts?

    I'm having unfixable UVW problems...

    213hh3.png

    East

    hwy22r.png

    North

However, South and West Views are perfectly fine, like in the previous posts...

Each side, the windows are separate. But, they all have the same UVW map applied to them. I tried selecting only the glass(they are actually boxes as shapes) on the East side and change the UVW map to it personally however no matter what I change it to, the texture remains the same. It will not change no matter what. And it is applied as a Box...not a plane, sphere and what not. I'm thinking about just copying the West and South side's glass to place them here because glass will not be affected by the UVW map.

It's the same texture for each side. But why is it that only the UVW Map only affects the South and West sides even if the North and East sides are selected and are applied with the UVW Mapping?

Not "meh" at all - I think it looks more logical this way. If you wanted to keep the raised window washer rails, you'd have to add some supports as well, not to mention a means of access (elevated platform with access ladder?), and then it might look cool, but people would probably still wonder why they didn't just put the rails right on the rooftop and made the crane for the window washer platform a bit bigger. That's why I think the new version with the recessed vents works better. Oh, and could it be that the rails are a bit off scale? They seem wide enough for a normal gauge train!

I think I just said meh on the last one because it was a draft render. :P

T Wrecks- Thanks, what do you think of it now?

Gn_leugim- I guess its hard to say when It comes to dirty roof junk on what's "pleasing" to the eye. xD

GOOD TEXTURES ARE MADE, NOT FOUND.
(I get tired of saying that in BAT threads.)

"I believe in talking behind peoples' backs. That way, they hear it more than once." - Fran Lebowitz

Good job on those glass textures! The walls are looking great as well. :) Now only the roof doesn't quite convince me yet... model-wise, it looks good enough, although details like a railing around the edge of that recessed part would look nice, and maybe a metal stair leading down? Some aerials might also be worth considering. The main issue are the textures, but seeing how well you mastered walls and windows, I'm confident that you will nail the roof textures, too!

Almost forgot the most important part: It's good to see you posting and updating! :)

Slight modifications to this one. I hanged one of the roof textures and added some kind of raised wall to help make that recessed roof part "safer." I'd like to add a ladder to it soon. I'm currently dubious about what else to add to the roof.

I also added some base detail. There probably should be at least 3 entrance doors on it though, on at least two sides of the building. Or at least that's what I had in mind.

I want to go ahead and get some night lights over with. It's not going to be anything special or whimsical though.

IMO, the roof junk is sufficient in terms of modeling - well, almost. Maybe an antenna / satellite dish or two, but that's pretty much it. What it really needs IMO is a different texture. The one you have there might be a tad too bright, and I guess what also puts me off a bit is that those lines on it somehow make it look more like something that could belong on a vertical surface (i.e. a wall) than on a horizontal one.

Thanks for the input, I changed the main roof texture. How about it now?

And I started on some night lights. There's going to be some variety here but this is a general idea.

Oh I forgot to mention don't mind the white seams on the building, that came from a texture disappearing.

Well, I started on this, since I wanted to try something a little smaller again-

    vq5l.png

    14ty0n.png

EDIT: Forgot to be a bit more descriptive about this.:P Well the tower is about 17 stories tall, and it's influenced by a real life structure in ST. Louis Missouri however this will not be a recreation of it. Just wanted to do something small on the side. Also, the glass is probably not exactly final and I still haven't textured...well generally everything else. Haha What do y'all think?
