Why don't my downloaded buildings light up at night?

according to most buildings i download, just having the latest downloads from sc4.com will make the buildings lite up at night. but nothing i have downloaded lights up at all. is anyone else having this problem?

i have a problem with nightlighting too and i did everything what astronelson posted and still no lights. i really cant figure it out i really dont know whats the problem with it

You did install the EP1 Update first, and then the SC4Update4BAT? You can check the properties of the game's exec file (in the C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps folder). It should be 1.1.640.0 if the patches installed correctly.

What downloads in particular? Not all are made to light at night.

yeah but i was watching whole city with every building i downloaded and none of them had lights only SC4 buildings and thats really not great

Then you failed at the patching.. did you do as CaptCity said and verify you are at 1.1.640.0? Take a look at the patch log and see what it says.

well according to the game launcher it says 1.1.610.0 but the thing is i patched the game twice and still the same

Well, obviously the version number is far too low. After the Rush Hour Patch, it should be 1.1.638.0, and after the night lights update 1.1.640.0. What does the patch log say?

Anyway, chances are you'll have to try reinstalling from scratch.

Where did you get your game? (Country or Region) The first update is region specfic, and if you dont get the right region then it will not work.

i downloaded the game from Strong DC but that is SK (Slovak) Extel (internet) private server and that guy had the SC4D and it is English version (US) and i really dont no but still no lights on whole game and i really hate it

Sounds like a pirated copy.. I expect you won't be able to patch it at all.

Yes if he downloaded it, its a piated copy and the updates will not work no matter what he does.

To the best of my knowledge i have never seen this game legally avalible for download espically from where he descibled it.

It is also against the site rules
