Picture of the Bug in one of my cities

Here is the bug, it seems to only effect original SC4 Ploppbles (Civic/Landmark) However, sometimes it spreads to growables. Also notice in the image that you can not see the avenue the avenue in the middle. I recently tried to download the SC4 Update to get nightlighting in STEX uploads (didn't work, I think this may have been the result) I also downloaded Russell Sq. Tube Station, Seol City Hall, SF City Hall, Rockerfeller Center and the Brandenburg Gate. I also downloaded the Christmas Tree recently uploaded on the STEX.

I have and play SC4 Deluxe Edition. The
Updates I have installed are, the NAM, more recently the RHW and even more recently the sku1 update.

I have an Acer Aspire 4330 dual-core processor T1600 1.66 GHz 1GB RAM 160GB Hard Drive

Please Help this makes it impossible to play the game!

did you by any chance download the mod that changes missing content from brown boxes to colour smudge? because that looks a lot like it and that means for those buildings you are missing the dependencies....

That is caused by a graphics driver issue.. check for drivers and/or SC4 threads on the support site for your video card. (software rendering may get you past it until you can get the driver right)

I am sorry, but I am not that great with computers, how exactly would you do that?

I tried the software rendering but it didn't work, how would you do the graphics driver thing?

Would uninstalling SC4 (backing up my files or coarse) and installing it again solve the problem? If not is there like a "how to fix a graphics driver issue for dummies" or is it really simple.

Like I said if any remedies are found please post them in pain english, I am not at all good with computers.
The bug tends to be spreading a bit more to RCI buildings.

Interesting.. what did it do when you set it to "software" rendering? Did it behave the same with the colored tiling? or something else? To change drivers you will have to go to the support site for your computer (or if it is built up of components to the manufacturer of your video card). What kind of computer is it and what graphics card (or chipset) is in it? If you go to the "RUN" window on the startup popup you can type in a command "DXDIAG" (without the quotes) and hit return. It will show you some pages which may help you 1. Identify any problems you may be having and 2. will tell you what components are in the computer and lots of info about the hardware and drivers in your computer. You can print out or save to file that printout (it is an option when you run the diagnostic) so that you can tell people about what you have.

Hmmm i had this problem on my old laptop except it wasn't as extensive as you see here. The problem was that civic buildings would always change to the color green. I gave it a few weeks and it disappeared. My old laptop specs: Dell Inspiron Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, 2gb ddr2, intel pentium dual core. On my new laptop where I now play simcity it works perfectly fine. My specs: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Intel i3- 2.13ghz, ATI mobility radeon 4330 HD, 4gb DDR3

I think your running low on ram you only have 1gb & your running

    vista.

Go to your system Manufacturers web site & see what you can add.

This is kinda for advanced users so you may not be comfortable doing

it,but it's well worth it as it will improve your computers performance.
