Welcome to my city Journal about the fictional Greater Sparta Region. Instead of just letting my city grow in an empty landscape I have decided to let it evolve from a rural landscape.

This is the region that I will work with:

/idealbb/files/Greater

Its dimensions is: 7 x 6 large cities (31 that will be built on).

The region is flat because it is supposed to be costal/flood plains, created underwater during the last iceage (and because terraforming isn't my greatest talent<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif>).

I am almost done filling the landscape with farms, screenies coming soon.

Here's the map of the region with all the farms, and three small towns, Sparta, Dullsa and Pheasantville (no Pheasant is not a typo).

This is a pic of Sparta....

That looks very nice Dunder, I love all the little farms etc. But I would place some forests in between, so it doesn't get too repetitive.
The little town looks really good with the church and the town square btw.

    Good job2.gif

I suppose that the population of Sparta has enough to eat...
I like the farms, but a few woods and ponds would break this monotonous landscape.
    Good job.

Heres a new pic with Sparta at pop ~ 45 000, some new hills in the rural landscape and the new railroad (may be hard to see).

this is going to be an awesome CJ, we're going to see your city grow all the way from a farm town to a metropolis.

I wonder why this one was abandoned.  It has such a good concept to work around, especially considering this is a 2004 CJ.

I'd like to see more of this, hopefully it's not deleted. I like how it really looks like a midwestern area with the gridlike roads through farm land, etc.

That is some very realistic farmland you have there, and I like the choice of map for this type of region. Your pictures look great, and I hope more are on the way. Nice work.
