Made the mistake of trying fake meat again today.  I'm going to try to make a mental note to myself to avoid it in the future.  It's so weird, because I rather love tofu (it's a staple in Japanese cuisine, there are LOTS of ways to enjoy it deliciously), but plant-based (as in most likely bean-based, like tofu) meats are just... well, whatever they are they rendered tonight's dinner inedible.

I won't do the same to yours for CURRY SUNDAY!  Tonight we'll go with my favorite the old standby, Japanese brown curry using S&B's Golden Curry roux.  Add in some potatoes, pork (REAL pork), onions and pour it over some basmati rice (because I like that better than Japanese sticky rice) and we're talking some delicious food.  Bon appetite!

Went to a silent disco this past Saturday evening, it was really something different.  They had 3 DJ's and you wore headphones that had 3 channels and you could switch the channels to listen to the different DJ's.  I was really fun taking the headphones off and watching people dance without any music and hearing them singing along to their own headphones.  It was definitely a different experience, rather fun. Had some good, old fashioned Cajun Po Boy's for dinner before the disco,  Shrimp and craw-fish on lemon pepper coleslaw.  It was wonderful.

I love Cajun food.  Po boys are tasty, but jambalaya's more my thing!  Silent discos sound like an interesting experience!  They didn't have that when I was the age when that sort of thing would have appealed to me so we toilet papered houses instead.

We seem to have made too many double chocolate chip cookies with white chocolate chunks.  Would anyone like some?

Valentine's Day is upon us!  Mrs. NMUSpidey picked up two turkeys before Thanksgiving, so we have an extra one we're going to cook up this weekend for a special Thanksgiving feast, only romantic-like for our day of loooooooooooooooooooooooooove.  Come back tomorrow to see what's cooking for our romantic candlelight dinner!

Another vast turkey dinner spread awaits you!  Accompanied by cheesy broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing (but not that Stove Top crap), gravy, dinner rolls, and my beloved Granny's world-famous noodles, there's plenty to LOVE at The Moose Factory tonight.  Bring your significant other, but not the Limp Bizkit album, and enjoy!

I managed to miss Curry Sunday!  Oh well, we'll just have to move on to NACHO MONDAY and get back on the curry train next week.  I think with my nachos, piled high with taco meat, sharp cheddar cheese, picante sauce, guacamole, green onions, and a spritz of lime, I will add uno cerveza, a bottle of Corona.  Anyone else up for nachos?

Spent the morning making home-made sauerkraut. Kind of a hobby for me, when I'm not working hard, creating cities. * Pickling too. I used to get veggies and half would go bad before I got to use them. Now I pickle them and they're good for months. Saves a lot of money and the taste is far superior to store bought. Sauerkraut is easy. It makes itself, practically. Chop up a cabbage, dump a bunch of kosher salt on it, stick it in a crock or large container, go have a beer and come back 10 days later. Bring hot dogs.

Kimchi is another pickled cabbage and junk in a jar and come back to after a long time thing that I like.  It goes great with rice and fish.

Hot dogs and sauerkraut, kimchi and rice and fish.  Sounds like an interesting combination for tonight's spread!

After an unintentional week off, it's time for another CURRY SUNDAY!  I think we'll fire up the ol' George Foreman and have some curried steaks.  We'll serve them with baked potatoes, steamed broccoli, and garlic bread.  We'll set out some salads while the steaks are cooking.  Let us know how you like them!

I'm laying out a fruit salad tonight.  My body feels dehydrated and devoid of vitamins and minerals and a fruit salad sounds very refreshing: McIntosh chunks, grapes, kiwi fruits, mangoes, tangerines, honeydew, watermelon, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries.

EDIT: As a side note, I used to work with a teacher who told me that she didn't like cucumbers and watermelons.  Apparently, they are related, along with squash, pumpkin, zucchini, and (my favorite) goya!

You know what day it is!  Today we'll prepare a Thai yellow curry with thin-cut chicken, bamboo, green and red bell peppers, and mushrooms.  We'll serve it over rice.  For something special to whet your appetite, why don't you try some coconut fried shrimp with the special peanut sauce?  It is immensely delicious, my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

We went family friendly a while back so I'm pretty certain we have a crate of sarsaparilla tucked away in the cellar .... goes off to have a look

I had every intention of serving that up yesterday but I couldn't get this dialogue box to open.  It's working now, here's the crate Catty found!

We have reached the end of another glorious week.  Congratulations, everyone.  We did it.  And now, to prepare for the one coming up...

CURRY SUNDAY!  Tonight we're watching Drunken Master II.  As such, how does Chinese-style chicken curry sound?  Served over Chinese rice that was grown in America because who knows what conditions are actually like over there...

Tonight we'll do some Greek food.  Gyros, stuffed grape leaves, fried kalamari, moussaka, souvlaki, and baklava.  I don't know if bon appetit is appropriate here and I unfortunately don't speak Greek, so we'll go with Japanese: ITADAKIMASU!

Ain't no coronavirus here!  Come on in for some completely healthy tacos on this Taco Tuesday Except On A Saturday!  We got veggie tacos!  We got whitefish tacos, with both beer-battered-deep-fried and grilled fishies, steak tacos, chicken tacos, normal tacos with ground beef, cheese, lettuce, and diced tomatoes, fancy tacos with fancy toppings like avocado and black bean and corn salsa, oh, and let's not forget our nachos, baked in the oven with REAL 100% sharp cheddar cheese!  Crack open a couple of Tecates, or if you're like me, Coronas and raise them to peace and long life!  Salut!
