Oxymoron Sauce

what is that?

Oxymoron sauce is a bit of a joke.  Jumbo Shrimp is an oxymoron in the grammatical sense.  Think about it.  Shrimp is something small.  Jumbo shrimp is something both big and small.  An oxymoron is a figure of speech where the modifier means the opposite of the noun.  You know, like military intelligence or honest politician.  Trust me, you'll like the sauce, it contains ketchup, horseradish, and a little lemon juice.

Well, I don't know about the rest of the world, but in Canada this is the August long weekend (Civic Holiday).  BBQ to the right, BBQ on the left, BBQ volley and thunder everywhere.

Wow todays menu is very tasty!  I would like to order a round for everyone today!   Had an interview yesterday, went well, got another on Tuesday and wednesday.  Counting down the days in Aug.  I tell you, this has been ONE heck of a year!    How is everyone today?  Happy Saturday!

Well, it's a holiday.  Good luck on your interviews. 

 

I am starting a Holter monitor study Tuesday to try to get to the root of my breathing problems.  Dr. thinks I am having episodes of A. Fib.  If its not that, then off the the respirologist.  Haven't had that kind of check up in dog's years.  Nothing serious so far, but I am not taking chances.

 

Meanwhile, the pot is making my supper.  Potage Printanière from my recipe from earlier.  Naturally a thing like that is served will well-buttered bread.  The BBQ stuff is for tomorrow and Monday, which is the actual holiday.  Right now, the pig is in the smoker.  This is going to be one whiz-bang of a suckling pig.  I think there is enough go go around both days.

I am well... been busy around here taking care of birds.. took up nail art. that gets time consuming and working... going to church and hanging out with our friend a couple doors down.

Organised my art stuff as well as my office area.

I have to tell you guys, The Factory is one of the BEST support systems Ive had access to , this entire year!  You know , we've all gone through a rough patch over last 12 month!  Soon one day, we can look back on these posts and see how we made it through  the storms!   Especially thanks to Mr  Moose for providing all the comfort food we could eat and then some!   I just made a Peyton Update and will go back and add tomorrow's holiday in it so to spread word!

 

M3 - you hang in there!  You did have it rough too and we felt your anxieties and pain!   You are going to come off ontop! We can tell!   Mr Moose, thanks and good luck too on your upcoming exams.  You know we are 'there' with you on your docs visits!  Got my fingers and toes crossed so that means its going to all come out ok!  You'll see!.

 

I say, after we get passed our current mountains, lets throw ourselves a HUGE virtual Celebration here in The Factory!?!    Hey! Did i see a new name in here just now?   Ive  been  busy with work and transitioning, etc that i missed a few days here.

SimRico you are becoming quite an artist.  Some of the stuff you do with (what?) Photoshop? is amazing.  I suppose by now you have a rather large collection of templates and layers you can call on at need.  Neat package, eh?.  If I had the time, I'd like to work up something in the GIMP, but I lack the artistic will to do that kind of detail work.

 

Prescription for post-BBQ tummy:  Take two of these candied ginger slices and chew them slowly.  They will fix that wonky tummy, and they taste good too.  My market has finally decided to carry them, so I no longer have to make special arrangements to get them.  Hurray!

 

Special Dessert:  Strawberries Grand Marnier

 

Take about a quart of fresh strawberries and clean and pick them over removing any that might be less than perfect.

Pick over the strawberries with a fork so that each one is pierced at least once.

In a deep bowl, cover the strawberries with Grand Marnier Liqueur

Refrigerate for 24 hours.

 

At this point you must resist the temptation to throw out the strawberries and drink the Grand Marnier.

 

In a metal bowl sitting in another bowl of ice, take about a quart of softened French Vanilla Ice Cream and fold in thoroughly an equal amount of slightly sweetened whipped cream (crème fouetté).

 

Strain the strawberries reserving the liquor.

 

Fold the strawberries into the cream mixture and serve in iced bowls (preferably sitting in bowls of ice).  Serve a pony glass of the liquor with it.

 

Enjoy.

 

Additional item for formal dinners -- garnish the dessert with candied violets.

Cockateels are like cats in that regard.  They will take on unexplained likes and dislikes.  That's why I like dogs.  Dogs love everybody.

 

So, it's a holiday Monday and most things are closed up tighter than a drum.  We remain open, even on religious holidays.

I have a friend who raises cockateels.  I think he is slightly nuts, but overall he is a nice person.

 

So, I am now hooked up to a Holter monitor for 24 hours.  The last time the device was the size of a large thermos bottle.   The one I have now is about the size of a cell phone.  Technology advances in medical instrumentation.

Just finished a second?interview at ine of the?nations largest Cancer Centers. A final interview with Regional directors....fingers crossed and toes too. Mr Moose Id love to rsvp the booth for the gang to mingle and have some good bbq, drinks and association with REAL FRIENDS! Thank You Mr. M and M³ for being there !
