I have some problem with the education in my city and it seems I cant improve it, regardless what kind of school building I build. I have about 58.000 inhabitants.

Any experienced gamer who can give this ***** a hint? Would appreciate it alot.

Best regards

Viktor

I'm having the same issues and to add to it I can place a school on the road right behind a residential area and the overlay still shows red for part of the area right by the school.   Must be factors that contribute to the lack of education in that area but I've not yet been able to figure out what they are.   Could it be too much traffic?

I have absolutely no idea. I have built two of the kind of shools you get in the beginning, and recently a High School. But my education is still low, especially the executives are unhappy.

If I try to build a new school of any kind, the education doesnt raise anything. So im a bit lost here. What have I missed....

I think traffic has a huge influence on services. Some of my hotels were in trouble earlier in one of my city. At first I tried to place it in different location, but they still go bankrupt after awhile. Then I noticed that my traffic around the hotel is red. After I dealt with traffic, the hotels on the same location went back to normal business. I think, unlike in SC4, public services in CXL not only has a range, but we need to place them in locations with good traffic, ie. easy to access to be effective. I'll run some test later to check it out.

Taxes may also come into effect here. A lot of people neglect to mention this very important factor. I've noticed that lowering the taxes past the default value will yield higher overall satisfaction and less complaints in general. One time I was able to lower residential taxes to 10% (minimum allowable) and there was minimal complaining.

traffic outside any building does seem to have an effect on its effectiveness. can't people in this game walk anywhere?

think about it though, if you have a choice of, say, two identical supermarkets, but one is really busy and has traffic problems on the surrounding roads, and one is quiet and easier to get to, even if it is slightly further away, which one would you choose (if you had to drive)?

I keep this message too. A few things are important to remember when trying to "satifsy" workers:

-The higher level they are, the harder they are to please. Elites are a bugger!

-Services don't have a "circle of effect", it seems to be a bit more intelligent than that, so it's not enough to just plonk one down every so many miles.

-You don't actually have to satisfy their needs. As long as their overall satisfaction is ok. My city is constantly popping messages that there's not enough leisure, the city is dead and boring, and all the citizens are dumb as can be... still got it to 800k pop with nice profit!

Just a quick hint. always try to place your services on the biggest roads you have & preferebly ones that aren't your main through-ways aswell. Traffic affects all things in this game greatly including all services & frieght/passenger travel times that all affect your profits of your industries.

    Hope this helps!

I don't have the game as i got really fed up with MC's lack of community involvement(among many other things with this game......that's for another thread though 3.gif)

I do however have alot of knowledge from playing the beta from day one!! 4.gif
