Hello guys,

is it possible to have a tram driving on a bridge (avenue bridge, for example)? If so, how? I always need to build a second bridge or a tunnel just for the tram which is quite unrealistic.

Sadly, that is impossible. If you did do it the traffic simulator would go crazy! The game would most likely crash.

Although a puzzle piece based bridge may be possible. Why dont you go to the NAM suggestions thread and ask if it would be possible to have a PUZZLE PIECE based bridge. That way you would also be able to have corners!

Unless someone makes an "on-slope" and a "over -x" peice (where x is the stuff being crossed) no

new pieces come out now and then as usage expands so you never know.. maybe you can make it yourself.. 2.gif

Actually, I do believe someone attempted this. It was a double-decker bridge with a highway and a rail. The thread is now locked, but its great to check out! Linkie

I was thinking, If the NAM team can create el rail over road then surely they can create something that can be plopped on water, then something that can transition from land to water. That way you could have curves!!

Example:

L-land piece

T-land-sea transition (1x3)

S- Sea piece

W- water

G-ground

B-beach

GGGGGGGBBWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWBBGGGGGGGGGG

LLLLLLLLLTTTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTLLLLLLLLLLLLL

GGGGGGGBBWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWBBGGGGGGGGGG

or maybe:

GGGGGGGGGBBWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWBBGGGGGGGGGGG

LLLLLLLLLLTTTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWBBGGGGGGGGGGG

GGGGGGGGGBBWWWWWWWWWWWSWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWBBGGGGGGGGGGG

GGGGGGGGGBBWWWWWWWWWWWWSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Im sure that it can be done using puzzle pieces

EDIT: i coloured some of the letters to make it easier to understand

Well I can think of a way to have multiple traffic types on a bridge and have it curved at the same time.

Powerlines are considered a network type in the game, so you can edit the traffic simulator file to allow some kind of traffic on them. Then you create a teleport building that will change pedestrians, cars, trains, whatever into that traffic type and send them send them through the powerlines.

Also, I beleive there is a way to create something like an elevated highway, then open the tile in SC4 Terraformer, lower the land that has the highway, and re-open the tile. It certainly doesn't look as good, but it is a straightforward way of making curving bridges
