Monorail and HSR

 Is there any difference between monorail and HSR? Which one would be better to use?

Well, monorail is more expensive, I guess. And, HSR is faster, so I guess HSR. Just my opinion though.

There's some visual changes, and I believe there's capacity changes as well.

I haven't used either yet. Regular Rail seems to handle all my needs, and I heard that HSR and Monorail fail to connect between cities as a neighbor connection. Anyone know if that is true?

From the sounds of the opinions above, it sounds like using HSR is always better than Monorail. So I'd like to try it soon, but when I go to the Menu, I see the Monorail rail and stations, but where do I find the menu tabs for HSR?

Need a separate download for it. It may have been part of the last NAM, but I can't remember and I'm too lazy to look. Ido know its under one of the transit tabs, might be the miscellaneous or rail tab.

I usually use monorail in and between cities so it's like my main form of intercity travel besides roads. Would hsr work better intercity or in city?

The High Speed Rail (HSR) is based upon the monrail network (like GLR and El Rail), so the two have similar characteristics. Both are able to make neighbor connections. The menu items for HSR are found under the Rail menu and includes starter pieces for HSR and Ground HSR (similar to the GLR). It is not part of the NAM, but is an 'addon' requiring the NAM.

It is available on the STEX, you cant make as tight turns and such but in my opinion it is far more likely that a city has HSR instead of monorail

In case someone stumbles across this thread in a search (like I did), I've noticed NAM now comes with HSR (I'm on NAM 34)
