Looking for sc2000 Original Tileset

I've been looking all over the web for pictures of the original buidlings from Sim City 2000. I'd like to re-create some of them in BAT for sc4, but I can't find anything worth using for reference. I don't have SCURK installed, otherwise I could just look at the original sprites myself. Everything on the web are all zoomed out, low quality city screenshots, and nothing about indevidual buildings.

Please help me. If anyone knows of a library or a gallery somewhere of all the sc2000 buidlings, please let me know. Thank you.

Believe it or not: I still have the game and skurk. I am still tempted sometimes to have a go at the skurk. Alas WinXP does not like SC2000 and it won't install correctly. pooh!

Hey, good stuff. I appreciate the enthusiasm for this endevor of mine.

I think I still have some form of SCURK installed on my old, old, old computer. It's sitting on the floor in my bedroom closet. I don't know if it will turn on or not though, it's had some stuff taken out of it. *crossing my fingers* I'll try and see if I can get it running.

Odd from Sweden, that building is in Chicago, the CNA Building.
Some of my favorite buildings were from Steve McGlen's Gotham (NYC) tileset. The creations Tom Behrendhart, Wren, Lee Sojot and the rest of the SCURK gods produced were awe inspiring when I first saw them. Even today, most of them are still great and motivational.
I get nostalgic whenever I visit that site or an old SC3K site. I'll miss SC2000 and SCURK, but I always have the new BAT to build new memories.1.gif

Good luck JaWood, We'll be waiting.44.gif

Ok, here's what I've come up with. I got into my old computer and found an old running copy of SCURK. Yay! 39.gif I then took screenshots of every building I thought would be worth while to redo in BAT. I didn't copy every building, just the more memorable ones.

Here's the finished collage I've come up with to showcase my findings. Wow, these buildings bring back a lot of memories! Anybody else get flashbacks looking at these?

The curved one in the bottom-right corner has already been done by agwitt. It's in the STEX here . I'd love to see most of the rest of those done, however. Any takers?

Ahhh, memories! I loved the style of the SC2000 buildings, IMO they were better than the SC3000 ones. Anyway, it's a great idea to re-create them for SC4. Here are my all-time favorites (among the RCI ones):

My favourites (besides the LARGEST one - the Ksim 1.gif) is the 2x2 red brick office building with the tower and the Office Park - the bright red 3x3 building with the stepped terraces... well maybe I will put them up on my list... after about 123 other buildings :-)

    Closer zoom?? 17.gif17.gif17.gif

This IS the closest zoom. Se Your desktop resolution to 640 pixels width like most people had back then and You will see the buildings in true scale 1.gif

When You made BAT buildings for Sim City 2000, You usually made a window 1x2 pixels and a car 2x4 pixels. A small lot (1x1 tile in-game) is only 32 pixels wide in Sim City 2000!

Hey JaWood!  How's it been?  I thought that SimCity 3000 was a million years ago, but now you bring up SC2000, haha.  I never got good enough in SC2K to get real cities going, I really sucked.  I only mastered SC3KU.  I've always had the idea in my head to redo some SC3KU BATs that we did forever ago.

NintendoMaster128, that would be wonderful if you are thinking about re-creating some of your BAT's. I liked your latest buildings for SC3KU. Even though the graphics looked cartoonish back then, I miss some of the old BAT buildings from the SC3000 exchange.

It's kinda of sad only a few of the great creators of past SimCity's made the transition to SC4. Though, we have a bunch of up and coming legends and BAT stars right here at Simtropolis.44.gif

Wow, this thread is getting great aclaim! It's getting me excited to dive in and start on some of these. Here are a few conversion issues that I see with this project:

Most - well all - of the sc2000 buildings have a cartoon like look to them. If you stay true to the form, color, and exagerated scale of the buildings when recreating them for sc4, you'll get apples from apples, or in other words another cartony looking building. I think this is apperant in agwitt's Paradice Hills recreation.

    Capture203.jpg

Soooo, I'm going to try to stay true to the shape and style of the buildings, but am also going to take a few artistic liberties in making then fit in better with the realist look of sc4. Also there's the other issue of what the backs of the buildings looks like. Again, I'll use artistic interpretation. Does that all make sence?
