    One thing i noticed, is that the highway is much more congested if just cars are using it and no buses or trucks. I'm sure with a bit more tweaking you can get all lanes jams if you get enough people using the highway.

    It does look bad when all the highways and avenues are all red. Maybe with a little help in tweaking we can make it perfect..2.gif

    I found out that the setting that has the most dramatic change is lowering the capacities.

    I may try to tweak it more a bit with higher capacities by using different combinations in the spawn/recall setting.

    Yes. You can delete the DAT files from your plugin folder and everything will go back to normal. It is based on DarkMatter's Transit SuperMod 2.0

    The DM MOD makes radical changes to game play especially in regard to commute times (they will be much lower). If you build a city using DM's MOD and then remove the MOD it will not corrupt your game. The worst that could happen is you could end up with clusters of abandoned zones and no job zots all over the place. As unusualfire notes if you use this hacked DM MOD you will have congestion all over the place. As he also suggests it is not a perfect solution and is more of an experiment so far.

    There should be a way to increase the automata in the game without messing with the transit capacities and forcing congestion. One would think that the amount of automata is a function of the capacity consumed so it should be adjustable somehow. If we can figure that out then that would be cool.

    Spawn/Recall for Highway:
    This property does not make sense to me. As I understand it consists of two sets of two magical numbers:
    1st set -> probability/capacity consumed that automata will be added
    So if these numbers are 0.8/0.6 then when the capacity consumed is 60% there is an 80% chance of automata being added.

    2nd set -> probability/capacity consumed that automata will be removed
    So if these numbers are 0.1/0.3 then when the capacity consumed is 30% there is a 10% chance of automata being removed.

    My question is why would this property be designed in such a way that it would only be applicable to two very specific capacity consumptions? What if, for example the capacity consumed is exactly 50% with the above values of 0.8/0.6 and 0.1/0.3? In this case, does the Spawn/Recall for Highway property have no affect when the capacity consumed is neither 60% nor 30%?

    Congestion to CPS for Highway:
    Does anyone know what this property means and how it relates to automata? I have tried lots of different values and it did not seem to affect anything.

    Well, thanks for the mod, it works great. I hope we can figure out how to change the automa to increase the cars seen without the horrible effects of the changes on the traffic. Well, here is my fun, nighttime.......

    Traffic on the I-82 and Jadwin Ave. Exit is backed up for atleast a mile. just a warnign to all, avoid if at all possible, now back to the news

    I have tried messing with Congestion to CPS for Highway and it did nothing but slow my computer to a crawl.lol

    Nice pic clindhartsen. I think I have start to make my interchanges the same way to easy flow on the avenues or roads.

    well i just wanted to show MY traffic jam pics lol i was just working on my city at zoom 4 (like usual) and boom i see tons of cars bumper to bumper lol..its nothing compare to unusualfire BUT! unlike his, i didnt use any Modding or any .dat files, nothing! its all pure game..the time is around 11:30am ..guess its lunch time

    ok OBVIOUSLY you used some kind of photoshop editing tool or something, or some kind of mod because first off there arent any 9 LINE highways in SC4/RH nor are there any single 3line highways

    other then that, it looks pretty neat!

    WHOA!!!!! where the heck can i find this mod?!?! i've looked in the mods section AND that multi-highways are fun thread for the mod but there isnt nothing??? where did you find it???

    dammit! never mind i just found out you dont need any mod..except transit_bugfix_expanded options.dat WHICH i already have..i cant believe this whole time i was able to do those highways and never knew it LOL..well guess its time to spend some more money

    Well, those are some amazing pictures! Still, the mod does create the traffic we see in the real world, some remind me of highway 240 at rush hour where I live. Really, that one pic is amazing!

    Also, has anyone had luck with increacing the automa without trashing your traffic maps\or capacities?

    About 13,000...again i'm just experimenting..It's really jammed it's just cars....but not as jammed when you have buses and trucks in the mix for some odd reason. It's amazing how these jams start.They build just like in real life

    A lot of the time in real life, its down to people being stupid and tracing the car in front by 1/2 mile, instead of keeping up and absorbing fluctuations in speed, I expect Maxis have recreated that.

    What do you think that is? I think it's just a highway with a street on both sides of it. But if there could be 9 (or 10, I think)-lined highways... Whoa! 9.gif'

    thanx..hey at least mines real traffic..i didnt change any values during that pic....im not messing around with those values anyways sounds to confusing andi dotn wanna get into it..besides this computer will probably not be able to handle all those automatas at the same time..lol damm slow computer!

    errr.... this is too hard. can someone please send me a copy of their dat file so that i can just replace mine. I installed traffic cop but i really confused by it
