I've tried both but not for years. Those are expensive hobbies.

I used to be able to ski blue squares.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

People around here associate trips to Vermont and Colorado exclusively with skiing. I have been to both places, but only in the summer. This produces some amusing reactions. "You went to Vermont in the summer? What is there to do in Vermont in the summer?".

Well folks, when the mountains aren't covered in snow, you may not be able to ski down them, but you can hike up them. 31.gif

I'm going to go do some astronomy tonight. I'm going to have to dress warmly, I went there last night and couldn't feel my hands or feet after a while. I wonder where my gloves are...

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I will watch the meteor shower as well tonight, with family.

Which I always found odd, because in my mind Utah = hot dry desert.

Of course, the environment considered typical of a state is not necessarily what all of it is like. For instance, eastern Colorado is actually part of the great plains, the mountains don't start until you get west of Denver.

If I recall correctly, that was a comet.

The Perseid meteor shower doesn't really start until the early hours of the morning, though. It was last night, too, but it might continue tonight.

There was nothing at 1 AM and only 2 falling stars at 3:30 AM.

Hale-Bopp was a comet, yes.

But that's not what I was referring to. 2.gif I'm guessing you're not a fan of South Park?
