    Update 3: Friday Night Lights

    > 3.gif>

I had gotten a lot done on my first week at City Hall. During the week I was able to draw up plans for the new community called Hunter’s Landing that would be built across the bay. I also got started on the suburban light rail line. I had been working of different proposals and met with transportation engineers regarding the new line. Now it was 4:45 PM and I could see the sun setting from my office. What a beautiful view!

    cityhalloverviewy.jpg

    3.gif>

I grabbed my briefcase and my jacket and was about to leave when I got a call. I went over to the phone and picked it up.

    phonehf.jpg

    “Hello?” I asked.

    3.gif>

“Hello John,” it was Tom Brewer from the mayor’s office. “The mayor is scheduling a first week get together dinner in Midtown at the ATOM Blue. All the other heads of departments are coming and Mayor Sullivan would be delighted if you would come.”

    cityhallstationo.jpg

    3.gif>

“Yes sure, thanks! I will see you there. Bye!” I hung up the phone. Truth was that I was planning on watching a hockey game tonight but well you can’t pass up dinner with the mayor! I left my office and headed toward the elevator. I met Michelle Chrétien, head of Tourism at the elevator. I found out that she was going to the dinner tonight so we decided to get to Midtown together on the subway. We started talking all the way to the City Hall Station.>3.gif>

    3.gif>

    bostonsubway.jpg3.gif>

    3.gif>

We hoped on the Green Line to Midtown. The subway was pretty crowded with people heading home for the weekend. With in no time we arrived at the Midtown Station. As we got outside Midtown had changed a lot since I was a kid. The street was packed with people. We made our way to the ATOM Blue.>3.gif>

    3.gif>

    >midtown.jpg

    3.gif>

We made or way inside and found the others from City Hall. Everyone was packed into a large elevator that headed to the 5 star restaurant on top. We all took our seats and ordered dinner (I ordered a New York Steak with some mashed potatoes) I sat between the head of Department of Heath and Michelle. I had struck up a conversation with the head of the Department of Heath, Dr. John Black Jr. He told me that he got interested in heath because he dad was a MASH doctor during the Korean War. i looked out the window and saw downtown:

    >torontoh.jpg 3.gif>

    >3.gif>>

^What a great view of downtown!

    newyorkstripsteak.jpg

    3.gif>

In the mean time my dinner arrived and we all ate. I listened to others talking about the city, economy, and sports. I had a good time. By then it was 7:30 and it was time to leave. The mayor said a few well chosen words to all of us after dinner. We all said our goodbyes to each other and thanked the Mayor. >3.gif>

    marinao.jpg

    3.gif>

I asked Michelle if she would accompany me on a walk to the marina down the street to view the bay at night. She agreed. We talked which seemed like for hours. We both had a great night. Michelle said that she had to leave so I bid her a goodnight. I soon left the marina and head home on the subway once again….>3.gif>

I am going to try to get rid of these stupid arrows over the weekend!3.gif>

Nice update! I assume you got those pesky arrows because you tried to put dates and times in? I tried the same thing with my cj and got arrows, so I just gave up on using dates. Anyway, I like the look of Midtown at night. Very vibrant.

everything looks great, i really liked the airport!

Gorgeous city pics. 4.gif I sense you're getting some inspiration from Toronto. Looks a bit like it. 4.gif

As for your similey problem, are you copy/pasting from Word? That'd do it. If that's not the case, try emptying your cache and doing it again. There've been a few minor site upgrades and sometimes copy/pasting gets a little screwy if your browser's backloading older software versions.

I recommend not composing your updates in Word. Try using Notepad and including all the BBCode tags for images and text formatting, then copy and paste into the Quick Reply box at the bottom of each page.

yeah, if you're copy/pasting from Word, that's your problem. You'll have to pick another program. I do believe Wordpad works for that. Or, if you have an HTML editor, like Dreamweaver, or something, you can copy/paste from that.

Then the extra smileys will be gone. 4.gif

    ***CJ ON HIATUS***

I have descided to stop Cardiff for the time being. I have been very busy with school and football practice. RL has not been kind to me as of present. I really wanted to be able to do this jugle school, football, and cjing all at the same time. Honestly i don't know if i will continue with cardiff. The future is very uncertain for this cj.  I really like what i did before: Build a city and show it here, like Halifax. Making a story  is very time consuming so i don't have time to make up a story, take pics, and edit them, and post it here. I also think there is a lack of interest in both parties: Myself and ST. The reception was not what I expected for a story. I got more ppl looking at halifax. I also am starting to not be interested in this CJ very much. maybe it's school and football, or maybe these arrows. I am sorry beacuse it seems that i am unpredictable with Cjs and I stop after a while. I see that some people don't do this and they have had one or two cjs. I have had about 5 since 2007.I don't know when i will get back to cjing but maybe a new cj  or the continuation of this cj is on the horizon.!

    Thanks for everything!

Oh man, that's too bad. That explains why you haven't been in chat AT ALL....

About the 'lack' of reception, I don't think you realize you are averaging more, or even twice as many, replies than the average Nyhaven update...

I am exactly like you my friend that is why I turned my CJ into a collection because I lose interest so quickly with my CJ's. Sorry to hear that RL has been kickin your butt lately hehe but It happens to the best of us, can't wait to see what you come out with next or if you continue this one!! Good luck to you my friend!!

Very original City Journal, I really like where it's going. Never thought I could see someone dramatize a city journal. Shame if it does have to go to waste, but I 100 percent agree that life always comes first.

City reminds me a lot of Toronto. I think the pic of the financial district gave it away, but I did notice the BMO Building in the gameplay pics as well.
