No, since all those files have different developers whom won't agree when their files are reused, also this file would be very big and remove the possibility not to have all buildings.

Although it has alot of dependencies, it really helps, especially in huge cities that have run out of space as it can grow up even more!!!!]

Definitely worth it

Good luck

A dependency is a file that it is felt many "bat makers" would like to use. For that purpose they are grouped into a big file.. call them "resources" if you like. Anyway.. over the years MANY have been done by literally dozens of BAT'ers for use by all. In order to use that, the BAT'er will place the item (lets say he sees a nice "prop" of a table and umbrella that he would like on his lot.. he just puts a reference to call that item in his file and he doesn't need to put the contents in his file,.. unfortunately that means that as you first start, you may need to collect many dependencies.. I suggest you keep custom content at a minimum until you have built some experience... they aren't really needed as they don't generally affect the way the game plays, but make it "prettier" .. The game is perfectly playable with hardly any custom lots...

The CAM is a special package that REQUIRES that you at least install the specified custom content as it is a change of the basics of the way the game works. So only CAM pieces (especially of the higher stage lots) which have been modified can be used. This can seem very complicated to the beginning player.

Since we're talking about CAM, I was wondering whether I, as someone that's been pretty happy with standard SC4 (my only custom content was having used NAM and a few custom seasonal trees and flowers), should download CAM.  Screenshots that I've seen make it seem almost futuristic.  How tall would those buildings be in real life?

Furthermore, does CAM have any pathfinding or traffic modifcation properties?  I was just worried that I'd download it and the sims would lose it for about 50 years.

CAM increases the network capacities; as well, there are options which greatly increase pedestrian traffic. But it's my understanding that one cannot use the CAM with a previously existing region.

Okay, I'm going to kinda hijack this thread to ask a related CAM question....

Is there a way to install something small that tricks SC4 into thinking that the CAM is installed, so I can add all the CAM-only buildings into my gameplay, without actually loading the CAM?

(At this time, im just getting into learning to play the game with the NAM, and while Id love to have CAM buildings work i my game, I do not want the higher network capacities, excessive growth, or have to deal with game changes that im not used to, or any conflicts or maintenance that would be presented by adding it. I'd like to keep my code and plugins directly as clean as possible.)

Well, the answer is no, you have to install CAM. However, you can chose not to use the higher network capacities. I don't know about the growth one. After it's installed you can chose to install the giant CAM packs or just individual lots not in the packs. Or both. It's all up to you.

    Hope this helps!

Okay, thanks.  Thats too bad.  I dont want my game's mechanics to change more than just what the NAM provides, so it sounds as if i need to steer clear of the CAM and its many related downloads for now.

    Appreciate the response.

I believe you can use CAM with an existing region; I did. It just won't have beneficial effects on the growth stages of existing buildings, I think, is the only downside.  I had barely begun the first city in my region when I installed CAM, so it's worked great for me.

Actually, now that I think about it, you may still be able to use CAM buildings without CAM. If you download the Extra Cheats Plugin (on the Stex), and you download a CAM building, you could use the building plop cheat to place it. It wont mess up your game and you don't need to use ny other cheats, but remeber that residential buildings can not be ploped. It's just part of the game.

Hope this helps a bit more.
