Has anyone been able to get Simcity 4 Deluxe to run in Windows 7 ?

I have tried the compatibilty selections and running in admin mode. So far no luck.

The various drivers are also beta. Video, motherboard, sound, etc.

Thanks

If I'm not mistaking, haljackey has been able to run SC4D on Windows 7, so it is possible. You could ask him how he did it, but unfortunately, I haven't seen him for a while now.

Regards,

Korot

There is nothing more to running SC4 on Windows 7 than normal. Just put in the disc and click install.

I'd say over 90% of Vista drivers and software work on Windows 7 if not more.

I have had no problems with Windows 7 concerning software not working. So I'm not sure what your problems are.

Thanks for the link, was some interesting reading.

I think one has to conclude that it is a beta OS and with beta drivers, there will be problems.

So far it has been really stable, no BSOD, thats a change for the better.

So the best thing to do is to wait and see how things go with Win 7.

I will stick to Xp Pro, since I have been using it forever with almost no problems.

For information, the Win 7 was installed on a test computer as a fresh install, no upgrade. For myself I have found over

the years that upgrading over the top of another Os can lead to problems. Others have had no problems, so thats the way the old world goes.

    Thanks

    Very good.

I think tomorrow I will remove SC4 and reinstall just to make sure that I didn't missed something.

    Thanks
