Wow great journal , i love it , but i don't think theres any change to survive that climate , man 140c Fahrenheit thats pretty hot ( I think inposseble in this world exept in the desert , but there are no cities in the desert)

Do you think the human is able to survie 140c ?

140c Fahreinheit? I'm assuming you mean Fahrenheit, even though there's a small c there. Anyways, people could survive in 140 F weather if properly equipped. I've been to Las Vegas on a 121 degree day, and in other cities when it was 115 and it was hot but not unbearable.
I think the current record is 134, set in Libya, Africa and Death Valley, U.S.

As far as the temperature. A person can survive temps as high as 150 or 160 for short periods of time, at least air temps, that is taking into account there is no humidity. Liquid temp tolerance is a lot less, most would probably get 1st degree burns if they put a finger in water at 160.. The day of 140F was a one of a time event in Crystal junction's history. As far as how the temp gets that high when compared to africa or death valley, you have to take into account that Crystal Junction is a city that isnt built on Earth. It's bulit on the planet of frontier point. The entire world has no ice caps, only 33% of it is oceans, more then half the surface is covered in deserts. Even high altitudes dont have any ice present. No location on the surface gets below 50 to 55

Can you post the region and its plugins for download on another site, or send them by MSN Messenger.

I've said this eariler on this fourm. I don't know how to post a region for download. And as far as the mods. Most of the mods I use can be downloaded off of the mods sections of this site. Individually transfering the mods would require more space then most people's e-mail accounts have.

I hope he sends you the region so you can host it on simcityshpere, and then everyone can download it.

Are they're any seasons on Frontier Point, since the seasons we experience are due to the tilt of our planet, and not all planets have this or have it to a different degree (more or less). Or are the seasons more like that of Mars (like the changes of the polar ice caps every few thousand years, due to a slight wobble in the tilt of Mars).

It would be interesting if your planet entered an age of cooling, but it seems unlikely that it would happen if Frontier Point was real.

I live in FL so I can attest to how uncomfortable 100 degree weather with over 90% humidity can feel. I could only wish I knew what dry 100 degree weather feels like.

Flamesrock: I can transfer the region to the site, I just need instructions on how to do so. I do have an origional unmodifed version of Crystal Junction before i did any construction. I kept it in case the city ever experienced a major file problem and needed to be rebuilt.

77FurryBeagle: There are mild seasons on Frontier Point but they are simular to that of seasons at earth's equator then in the temperate zones. Crystal Junction's location sees no changes in seasons, temperatures fluctuate at random throughout the year. More tropical-like areas experience two seasons. Wet and dry. Bassically the seasons are defined by the amount of rainfall, instead of changes in the temperature. Area's towards the poles do have some mild changes in temperature but not much. Frontier Point is a planet with only a few degrees of tilt.

There are long term changes in the planet's temperature, basically cooling and warming trends that occur over a 200,000 year period. This is due to the planet's sun being a minor variable period star, where it will change in brightness and intensity from a class F3 to a class F6 over a 200,000 year period. Frontier point is currently at the height of it's warming period.

Here below are the statistics of Frontier Point.

    Diameter: 11,795 km
    Mass: 0.897 Earths (5.36 x 10^21 metric tons)
    Average Density: 6.24 g/cm

I don't like where the Tower is standing. It seems out of place, but nonetheless beautiful. I also liked how you showed the planet stats. Glad to see an update!

I like how your city is built on different elevations. I usually never attempt it because having something like that is such a pain to work with.

Great job, but a 70 story tower in a region of 750k? Not the most realistic thing ever, but either way, but this is possibly the best on ST!

I know the location and the height of the tower doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the city, but since it was one of the firt downloaded bat buildings that actually grew, I thought it was a good idea to keep it. Downtown is eventually going to be taking up the area of land arround the new tower. I am going to try and aim for a long narrow stretch of downtown along Freeway 48 west till just beyond the flat spire.

Everyone else, thanks for the complments.

New update will be posted sometime before next weekend.

I love the night time view. And the planet stats were very interesting too, looks like you know what you're talking about. I'm guessing you could have something like Ocotober 45th or March 32nd (since the year is about 600 days total). That or have about 20 total months with appx. 30 days.

Personally I don't think the Emerald Tower is that out of place.

    And congrats on 750K!

Very nice, but I have a few nit-picks with your planetry data.

You say that the mass is less than Earth's, but the gravity is greater.
How is that possible?  The only thing I could come up with is that it is spinning much slower, but your data also states that it rotates faster than the Earth.

    Nit-picks, yes, but I enjoy nit-picking.

Very nice airport, by the way... just one thing.  Fill around with open grass areas where you can't develop (betweeen runways, etc.), because it looks odd to have a blob of grass surrounded by desert in the middle of a city.

    Ok,. I'm done.

I know this might be tricky to explain. But the reason frontier point has greater surface gravity has to do with it's average density being higher then that of Earth. Earth has an average density of arround 5.5 g/cm

Great! You know how to use FTP right?

I'm sending you pm right now with details.

But I was going to say-- the terrain is great and all, but the development is what really gives it personality. Do you think you could upload the current region as-is + plugins, and possibly the blank region too for those who'd like to build from scratch? If its not too much trouble.

    -thanks
