Was looking at that site Ski, and in the Gender colum there are two letters, M and E.

But what on earth does the E stand for...?

EDIT: Ok, maybe I should read the key next time....>_>

Heh.  Well not too many that are actually popular.  Ian and Isaac are the only two I would have guessed if I wasn't so tired right now.

But if they are his initials then that's good enough for me.  I don't want to force any personal info out of him.  As long as I know the ISF after every post of his is just initials, I can sleep at night. 21.gif

Speaking of sleep, I need to go to bed!  I have to work early tomorrow. 30.gif

I just read something quite amazing and hilariously funny:

Ten Reasons Why Gay Marriage Is Wrong

01) Being gay is not natural. Real human beings always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, organ transplants, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire world. That's why we have only one religion in the world.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

The plot thickens....

My Dad gave me a man-to-man talk today.

And apparently, he went through a gay faze!!

and then he went off and found girls better.

But anyway, that is really suprising. Didn't expect him to have been curious before...

Well, I suppose after a nearly 2 year absence from this place, this would be a somewhat appropriate place to reintroduce myself. It's just good to see Simtrop has such a supportive GBLT community...

PS: And yes, I'm gay for anyone who's wondering 3.gif...

I would imagine most males have had homosexual tendencies at one point in their life, if not to satisfy curiosity then at least for just identifying their sexual identity - homosexual or heterosexual.  It is extremely admirable for your dad to admit it, though.

I just hope, Boggy, that he doesn't expect you to 'grow out of this phase' like he did.  But who knows, maybe you will.  It doesn't matter anyways, as long as your happy. 19.gif

Welcome back, Maelstrom!

Hmm... so much for don't ask don't tell...

I suppose I never thought of anyone in the millitary being gay. Well, I think that all of the controversy(sp?) surrounding gay marrige will soon end and it will be completely legal everywhere in the US.

Hmm.  I clicked your link and started reading the post.  Is QAF UK really any less degrading than the US version?  I'm just curious cause I agree that that show is terrible (US verison - never seen the UK one).  I'm just surprised a UK version would be better...and I wonder why.

Anyways, great start on the BAT19.gif  I'm not a huge fan of gay clubs but it's nice to see a gay themed BAT.

The UK version is actually the original, it started back in 1998-1999, it only had a total of 12 episodes, and aired on a national TV network called "channel 4". It wasn't unpopular at all, actually it had one of the highest ratings ever for channel 4, and they did pretty much beg the writer to make more, but he declined too, stating that he didnt want the show or the charcters to become mediocre sitcom characters, and that it shouldn't be a "this is the story of [insert character name here]" but moreover it should be a story about a pivotal period in their lives. I suppose in that respect it is special because only a few of them were made, so you value them more.

I watched maybe the first two episodes of QAF US, but i found out really, really camp and too clean cut for my tastes, it just seemed as though the show's main message was "Look here, we are so outrageous", rather than, "we may be gay, but this is how my life is". Sure the UK version had some sex scenes and nudity, not to mention some controversial elements. But those were actually to strengthen the characters, and in some cases highlighted Real-life issues. Such as Nathan (Justin to you guys) who lost his virginity at 15, wheras in the US version he was at legal age, or just under it?

There are some parts in the US version that pretty much echoed the same in the UK version, the difference is the style, it's not clean cut, it's gritty and the characters have flaws much more on the surface. They have a story to tell, but they dont have to act camp or outrageous to do it.

I really recommend watching it, or buying the DVD set (it should be quite cheap), you'll be really glad you did!

Thanks for the BAT compliment (im not a big fan of gay clubs either) but, those sims need it!

Interesting. I watched a couple (like 2) episodes a while back and found it quite boring. (The US version) It seemed to be one of those shows which only attraction is sex and nothing else. It seemed the entire story revolved around sex and who was doing who. Maybe it was just the episode I was watching but I just left saying "Great, since there isn't enough people who think gays are just sex-hungry maniacs."

Exactly, that's why i think you'll find the UK one much more appealing to you personally, has more substance and depth. 9.gif

Yeah, I think Simen should try to go on at least one date first. 18.gif

Simen, just ask her!!!  If she likes you then celebrate, and if she doesn't then nothing you could do would change that.  You're never gonna find out if you don't ask!

Here's what I know from my female friends:

They like a certain level of confidence (not arrogance) so don't cower in a corner when you ask her out or whatever.

They like it when guys let themselves be vulnerable to them - so admitting that you like her without knowing her stance qualifies as being vulnerable.

So go to her, be confident, and let her know that you really like her and you'd like to hang out sometime.  Already have a date in mind (place & time) if she says yes.  And if she says no, stay cool and let her know you'd still love to go out if she changes her mind.

Be confident, smile, and make eye contact.

That's all I got for ya, so go and gitem! 44.gif

telling me not to cower in a corner when doing a such thing would be as telling a cow to stop being a cow, but ok 3.gif yeah, I think Ill just have to tell her how I feel or something. but Id prefer to just find some way to get her msn 3.gif

Aww, don't do that!  Instant messaging is as impersonal as having someone else tell her you like her.  It just screams "Hey I can't face you myself so I'm just going to do it from a mile away behind the safety of a computer screen."

But do what you gotta do, Simen.

Lol... Hehe. 3.gif

Too bad that, here in America, gays and transvestites are still the most likely type of people to be murdered. 15.gif

Still, you can always enjoy little moments of pride! 9.gif

Except for me - I'm not gay. 3.gif

Ian Shuichi Fox!!  Is that your real middle name or did your boyfriend give it to you. 31.gif

Like with the gay clubs, I'm not a huge fan of gay pride parades since they seem to be all about half (more like three-fourths) naked men.  Those pics may be pleasing to the eyes 2.gif

But I'm all for a little fun every once in a while. 39.gif

Houston's Pride Parade is coming soon, I think.  I'll probably take a peek with my boyfriend to see how it turns out.  but it doesn't really help with the whole sex maniac image we tend to have.

Edit:  Well that's odd...my text was enlarged, but I corrected it.

Edit again:  Bah!  I thought it got smaller but it didn't.  Anyone else have this problem?

I know, I know.  I made that sound bad but it really won't get smaller. 31.gif
