Thankyou for fixing the road intersection with avenue so it doesnt create traffic lights all the time (unrealistic) and made it like streets.

It depends on your personal style and what types of cities you build.  The Ultra version isn't "better" than the other versions; it just has higher network capacities.  Please read the first post in the NAM Traffic Simulator Z and Data View Support Thread for more details.  49.gif

Also i found a few problems that make my game crash when i load roadsquote>

It would be helpful if you could tell us what they are, being as specific as possible.

Yes I do. 2.gif

Although what type of connection do you want to make?

To make a neighbour connection with CAN-AM, place a road where you want the connection as you would for a normal connection then place the CAN-AM water tiles over the road. This is explained in the Readme.

Hi guys,

After doing everything according to the instructions, I still can't get the GLR and CAN-AM to work. I am still trying, but if someone over here can help me, that would be very much appreciated.

ruudm,

What is it that you're not able to do? Are the items showing in the menus? Are you not able to plop the pieces?

Acouple things to check... If you had a previous version of NAM installed, did you fully remove all the files. Older files can conflict with newer ones. Also, if you had NAM installed before, did you select the same options when you installed the newer version. Sometimes not choosing the same installation options can lead to issues in existing cities.

A little more information might get more specific assistance... Let us know...

Thank you for replying,

I can select and build the tiles, but the game and thus the sims don't recognize a traffic network. I've been mostly concentrating on the GLR for now, and both the dragged tracks and the puzzle piece method don't work.

Also, I've read that you have to be careful to avoid game crashes when hovering a puzzle piece over a TE'd lot, but that doesn't happen when I do it.

I've attached some screenshots of a test city; note that I used the DrawPath function.

OK, it looks like you have a left-hand drive version of the game (vehicles drive on left). Did you select the LHD component when you installed the NAM (first option in the install program)? It will install the RHD by default if you don't change it. This might also be the reason your GLR paths aren't showing.

Also, some of the issues with pieces crashing the game have been lessened in this version, so that might not necessarily be a 'problem'.

Hope that does it for you. Let us know...

Hi guys,

It's working now. The problem was indeed that in my game, the sims used the left side of the road. I have previously played the Dutch version, where as far as I can remember, this wasn't the case. Now, I've installed the English version off the same disc(s), and I hadn't noticed the driving on the 'wrong side'.

After reinstalling the NAM for left-lane driving, everything is working fine, except the U Drive It for the GLR on an avenue-track, but I'll try to get that working in the future.

Thank you guys for your help.

    Update notice

The NAM Team was busy to fix the bugs and issues that were reported over the last few weeks. Naturally, a mod that is as large as the NAM might bear some bugs all the time, but we'll try our best to fix them all. 2.gif This time, we have created a NAM Update installer that only contains the files that have been changed. It's about 30% of the size of the full version, so that should ensure a faster download, and also less load for the STEX server. 4.gif

    What's new?

    • Some pathing errors for the Ground Highway Y Interchange and the gentle Ground Highway Curve have been fixed.
    • GLR plugin has been fixed.
    • OneWayRoad Arrow Reduction plugins have been fixed.
    • CAN-AM plugin has been modified slightly.
    • Some Rail texture bugs have been fixed, SFBT Darker Rail Texture plugin has been updated.
    • NAM Controller has been updated, NAM Controller error messages in various languages have been added.
    • NAM documentation has been updated.

    Download

Download NAM Update for Windows (Installer)

Download NAM Update for Mac (ZIP file)

    Update Instructions

Do not uninstall the current NAM! You need the June 2009 version as a base, so if you don't have that one yet, get it first.

Windows users: Simply run the installer and select all components that you have installed already. The installer will overwrite the old files.

Mac users: Extract the ZIP file and replace the old files with the new versions

This account is only used on occasion to update the NAM and other NAM Team products, or make official team announcements.  Private Messages (PMs) sent here may not be read in a timely manner.

    • General questions, comments, or concerns about the mod should be directed to the NAM & Transit Networks Board.
    • Matters more appropriate for Private Messages should be directed to Tarkus, NAM Team Lead.

I've never had any problems with plugins or NAM before. I just purchased a brand new comp, I re-installed SC4RHdeluxe, I got the new NAM (june version + this new update) and my 2 regions are messed up now. All my one-ways are disappearing, and a lot of streets needs to be redone. I've always updated my NAMs throughout the years, never had a problem. But since that new NAM, my 2 regions aren't the same. I'm clueless at this point.

YannickMtl, it sounds to me like you may have had the One-Way Road Arrow Reduction plugin installed as part of your previous NAM installation when you built those cities, but didn't install it this time around.  Due to the way that plugin works, if you've used it and haven't reinstalled it, it'll cause your One-Way Roads to disappear as it changes the Instance ID of the textures.

    Hope that helps!

Sorry to be a newb but when I run the installer it doesnt create any files or folders. The installer claims to be creating stuff but it isnt there. Nothing appears in any menu apart from a nam logo in highways which has a red arrow.

Downloaded the installer three times, uninstalled at least twice that. Tried installing in the prog and docs plugins. All the same, no files or folders created at all 15.gif

@splended: It looks like you only installed the NAM Essentials (they also contain a special NAM icon in the highway menu that tells you which NAM Controller is installed). You need to download the full NAM Version (around 15 MB in the Windows installer version) in order to make everything work.

Nope, installed the 15 meg download. Or rather didnt install it since the files it claims to be creating dont exist.

    NetworkAddonMod_Setup

    EDIT -

Just tried installing it to a new folder in prog/maxis etc and it's created the files.  Wird.

    Cheers anyway.

Yes I did have it on the previous NAM, and I did install it with the new NAM, and my one-ways are still not working. Should I uninstall the NAM completely and then re-install along with the update? I read the readme file of the NAM, I've always followed all instructions properly and it's really the first time I have a problem. Too bad I can't come back to the January NAM.
