I have just got SC4RH

Yay ive finally got SimCity4 Rush Hour.
The thing is what mods should i use i know of  THE NAM but that is all
what other mods should i use
any suggestions?????

If  you're looking for mods I recommend a water mod, such as this one, a rock mod, like this one. Also a few other useful mods that I personally like are this, this and this. I also recommend the RHW, the SAM, and the RAM. (you need to be registrered at the LEX to download).

Now if you're also looking for BATs to add some diversity to your cities, I recommend you look for stuff made by madhatter106, simgoober, pegasus, BSC, NDEX, Jasoncw, Nofunk, and goofyguytpa. The list goes on and one but those are just my personal favorites.

Good info. I'm about to brush off the dust on my SimCity 4 + Rush Hour and was looking to fix some of the flaws in the game through mods, but the number of files available here is overwhelming. It's a bit hard to know where to begin.

just be careful what you get I always end up getting things that conflict with each other and brown boxes pop up all over my cities!

Not for me its not, I cant register on the site...even althogh I know the game I have is the original which I personally bought from a shop....when I enter the reg key it says its invalid....so STEX is where I got everthing.

Actually, not really - that site has so much junk, some of it buggy, some of it really low quality, and a virus or two here and there.  And then there's the same three skyscraper BATs being repackaged over and over and over again, just being relotted by a thousand idiots with the Lot Editor who rearrange the shrubberies or realign the lamposts.

You're much better off getting stuff from here on the STEX, as well as places like SimPeg and SC4Devotion.  When I originally started (and before I knew about Simtropolis), I got a few things from the Maxis site, but I got rid of all of it when I found this place.  Sites like this and SC4D and SimPeg are the apex of SC4 custom content - the Maxis site is, at best, the nadir of it...

If you get lots of brown boxes, then what you need to do is download dependencies. There's a huge list of them at SC4Devotion. Sign up and go to the home page and click on the brown boxes.

Find the dependcies that you need. Always check dependencies before downloading.

As simtropolis is as i believe, the largest SC4 site, there will be more people making more mods. GOOD mods.

I suggest going to the STEX exchange, sorting it by popularity, and just looking through it and install what you like.

Be aware of some mods having dependencies.

And I uninstalled half of the ones I got again because they made my game crashy.

In the Urban Housing Mod description it says:. "You will also need the Buildings as props available from SIMCITY.com", and there is no read me.

Is that a dependency? What do I need to do?

There are two of those files, bldgprop_vol1.dat, and bldgprop_vol2.dat.  You can download them at simcity.ea.com, or from Zelgadis iDisk  site.
