I have a problem. i registered (as Mark), and so obviously had the key etc etc.

And I downloaded the whole 2.whatever Giga Bytes.

But, when I log in and press Play, I get a microsoft error problem.

Also, when I run the two packs of 1 GigaByte each, you know, the "Installing Core Gameplay" 1 out of 4

and then the "Installing graphics" 2 out of 4

well, I didn't see 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 4.

Is that normal??

Yeah, me too! It only loads up to 2/4, and then the installation is complete.

Babelfish will help.

You'll have to register first of course, that's probably the hardest part. If you try to register through the babelfish translated page it won't work so an easy work-around is to have a babelfish translated version open, while you fill out what you need to on the german version. You'll get an email to register through. Finish that up than come back to the original beta key giveaway page.

On the beta key giveaway page there's a small section towards the top right above the cities xl screenshot titled formular, if you followed the instructions correctly, registered succesfully and are logged in there should be a number of boxes that require information before you can be awarded a key. If i remember correctly there's boxes to fill in your date of birth, one for your email address (these are required) and 2 clickable boxes (the first is to recieve the site's newsletter or something a rather blah blah blah) (this one is acompletely optional and i don't need more spam esp. from a german game site) the second is basically an agreement that you have to click yes to before the site will award you a key. I made the mistake of clicking niether the first time and wondered why i didn't get a key. Again you can use the babelfish trick to help you figure out what everything means in english. If you do everything succesfully it should take you back to the beta key page only now there will be a key in the  Hier erscheint dein Key: section. The website should also send you an email with your key in it, just in case anything happens.  GL.

Wow this is one active thread, 14 pages in 2 days!!! Anyway I was wondering if you would need any requirments to test a game... do you just play or are you expected to report stuff... do you need any prior knowledge or anything like that?

Without giving too much away. You should goto the beta key giveaway page. It'll ask for a codeword, if you type one in succesfully it will award you with a key. If you type a wrong word or one that's already been used up (all the keys were already given out). It'll say opps and ask you to try again.

On the blog page on the most recent post there's a picture of a mountain and the codeword is a one word adjective used to describe the mountain.

For example: Gigantic (an adjective that can describe the mountain, but not the codeword).
