In the past few years, lots has changed with Cities XL, some for the worse. Some are feeling disappointed. Confused. Abandoned. Deceived. Others are cheering for the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Tell Simtropolis and maybe Monte Cristo how you feel about Cities XL so far. Be honest...

~ COMING SOON! Exciting new projects! ~

i guess that without free custom content like SC4 the game will be a big fail.

we will play it for a couple of months, and then everyone will be sick of it.

who here would play SC4 for more than two months only with the original content?

it is like playing sims without expansions.

Yeah, I mean, who would play a city building game where you can't make custom content right out of the box!  Oh, wait, Sim City was out for over a year before Maxis released the Lot editor, and then the BAT tools later. . . oops, I guess people do play games with just original content. . .

. . .

My feelings?  I'm personally 'meh' about this game.  I'm a late adopter of games anyway, didn't get Sim City 4 until 2005 (prior to this, I was playing SC2000, which I didn't really get into until sometime in 2000), didn't upgrade to Deluxe until 2006, didn't get the NAM until 2007.  The idea of making it an mmo is interesting, but I don't know if city building alone makes a great mmo game.  Over all I think CXL has promise, and will keep an eye on it for the future

I'll withhold judgement until the game itself is out. We don't know what is finalized and what isn't entirely yet.

Ever heard the saying: "Don't judge a book of its cover,"? WELL the sitution is the same. Many viewers and readers do assume the game too much. A demo would be good so we have the real feeling of the game.

It looks like it should be great when you pull it out of the box at around 10:30 at night the day after you convinced your mom to drive you to the store, when your so excited to try it and be able to be the first to brag about your average sized city that seemed big to you at the time. But who knows, after a couple of months you might get bored with only original content because people are still trying to figure out the new modeling programs, or the effects of the pretty graphics might start to wear off. My opinion that I'm going to go for it and see how it goes, roll with the punches, hope for the best.

Given that Monte Cristo give us some Modding capabilities, this game can become another SC4 with careful nurturing and plenty of Official support.
